It was a warm summer morning and I was waking up sweating, realizing the AC in my dorm room had went out again. "Damnit!" I shouted as I sat up.
"Thank god only one more day of this!" Tristin said jumping out of her bed.
We were Freshman in College and it was our last day of school, before summer vacation. Tristin was my dorm-mate all year. We became pretty good friends this year.
She started going through her clothes she had boxed up yesterday. "Oh my god, Ally, I feel like puting on a swim suit!" She shouted.
I just smiled and grabbed a towel. "Just take a shower." I said walking out of the room. I went to the bathrooms to take a shower. It was still pretty early, so there wasn't anyone in there. I took a quick shower, wrapped my towel around me and went back to my dorm room. "See you later, Ally." Tristin said smiling. "Have a good last day, thank god it's over!" She said.
"Later, girly." I said.
I quickly got dressed and threw my hair up. I put on my make up and rushed to Professor Learman's classroom before class started. I opened the door and peaked in. There he was sitting quietly at his desk going through some papers with his dark hair draping over his eyes. His eyes geared towards me and I smiled. "Allison." He said with a smile. I looked both ways down the hallway and didn't see a single person. "Class starts in ten minutes." He told me.
"I know." I said. I walked over to him and he sat up in his chair. He reached his arm around and grabbed my butt with his thumb in my back pocket. "So, tomorrow you go back home, right?" He asked.
I nodded.
"Where will that leave us?" He asked.
I shrugged my shoulders. "I was hoping it wouldn't change anything between us." I said.
He smiled, "Good."
I leaned down and put my hand on the back of his neck. We kissed for a breif second and he pulled away. "Sit down. Class starts in four minutes." He said.
"Sure thing, Professor." I said turning around. I walked to my desk shaking my butt. I sat down and he smiled at me. A few more students walked into the classroom and sat down.

Class started to fill up pretty fast. As soon as it hit 8:00 Professor Learman got up and locked the doors like he always did. He never alowed anyone to come in late to his class.
"Good Morning Class. As you all know this is your last day as a functioning human being in my classroom. Unless you come back next year to take one of my other psychology classes. I want to think all of you for showing up today. Normally the last day is pretty empty." He said.
"It's because your awesome Professor Learman!" A guy shouted from the back.
"Thank you Geremy. But your finals have already been graded." Professor Learman said. He went to his desk and pulled out a stack of folders.
"I will call your name and you may come up and collect your papers." He said.
He started calling off the students names and when he got to mine, I wasn't paying attention.
"Allison Shere." He said. "Ally!"
I looked up and laughed. "Oh, sorry." I said. I walked up to his desk. "Here you go, enjoy your summer." He said smiling and holding out my folder.
"Oh, I'll enjoy my summer alright." I whispered.
He looked down smiling and blsuhing. "Desiree Stone." He said. I sat back down. I stared at him until he looked at me. He looked away quickly and called the next person up.
"Tom Zachary." He said. After Tom came up and got his paper, he stood up.
"Well Class, I never do this, but it is the last day. I know it's an hour early, but CLASS DISMISSED!" He said. The classroom cleared out in the blink of an eye. I stayed at my seat.
"You aren't leaving Ally?" He asked me.
"No Professor. I was hoping for some extra credit." I said, biting my lip. It made him laugh. "Well, I was going for sexy, but I guess funny works too, right?" I asked.
"Can I see you in my office Ally?" He asked.
"Sure thing Professor." I told him.
"For the last time, don't call me professor...It makes me feel weird. Just call me by my name." He said.
"Okay Alex." I said, and followed him back to his office. He pulled the blinds, and locked his door.
"Is this why you let everyone go early?" I asked.
"Maybe." He said smiling.
"Shame on you, Professor." I said as I put my arms around his neck.
"When do you move your stuff?" He asked.
"Tomorrow morning." I whispered, "I have to be out of the dorm by noon."
"I see." He said, "So when will I see you next?"
"I can come by your place tomorrow after I move my stuff." I said.
"My roommate Chris will be around tomorrow though." He said.
"So." I said smiling. I started kissing him.
"You're right. Just come by." He said.
"He won't know I'm your student and he probably wouldn't care anyway. We're only eight years apart." I said giggling.
"Almost nine." He said, "I turn thirty one in January."
"Shut up and kiss me." I said.
"Okay. You don't have to tell me twice." He said, and kissed me. His office was kind of big. He had a desk with two chairs in front of it and a small couch off to the side. We walked over to the couch, kissing and undressing.
"Are you really going to be gone for the whole summer?" He asked.
"Yes, but I live not to far from here, remember?" I told him.
"I know. But I'll miss having you right here." He said.
"I'll visit, I promise." I said, pushing him down on the couch and climbing on top of him.
There was a knock at the door. "Shit, go under the desk." He whispered.
"Are you serious?" I asked quietly.
He nodded as he zipped up his pants. I grabbed my shirt and pants and got under the desk. He put his shirt on and opened the door. "Hey, you." A lady said to him.
"Hi. Sorry, I was taking a nap." He said.
"I was wondering if you'd like to go get a drink tonight." She said.
"I'm actually busy tonight." He said.
"What about tomorrow night?" She asked.
"Booked." He said.
"Oh. Are you seeing someone?" She asked. There was a long pause.
"Yes, I am actually." He said.
"Oh, well bring her by to Happy Hour." She said.
"I'll find out if she's interested." He said.
"It's a shame you're taken." She said.
He didn't say anything. "Goodbye." She said. I heard the door shut.
"Who was that?" I asked climbing out from under the desk.
"She teaches English 101." He said.
"She seems to show quite an interest in you." I said smiling.
"Yeah, well she's a little late." He said puting his arms around me.
"Well, I'm glad I was on time." I said, and kissed him again. He walked me back over to the couch and layed me down.
"I'm glad too." he said.
After we had sex I quickly got dressed and left before his next class started. I was suposed to have Pre Cal, but there was no need to go, so I went to find Tristin.
She was in our dorm room packing up some more things.
"Oh, hey." She said, "I fucking hate packing."
"Me too." I said.
"It's going to be so weird not living here." She said looking around. She sat down on her bed.
"Yeah, I know." I said.
"And Brian has to go back home to Florida." She said.
"That sucks." I said.
"I know. You are so lucky you didn't meat someone this year." She said.
I sat down next to her smiling.
"What?" She asked.
"I can't keep this from you anymore." I said smiling.
"You did meet someone!" She said, "You bitch. Why didn't you tell me?"
I laughed, "You have to promise not to tell ANYONE. Not a single person, okay?"
"You know me. I hate gossip and I am good at keeping secrets." She said.
I gave her a strange look.
"Yeah, so I love gossip, but you're my friend and I keep my best friends secrets." She said.
"You told me about Julie and Marshall." I said.
"I'm not going to tell anyone. Gosh, you act like you're seeing a married man or something. Oh my god, you're not dating a married man, are you?" She asked.
"No!" I said laughing.
"Then who is it?" She asked.
"It's a Professor." I whispered.
"A professor?!" She shouted, "Holy shit!"
"Geez, stop yelling." I said.
"Like anybody can hear us." She said, "Which one?"
"Learman." I whispered.
Her eyes got big. "He is hot. I am jelous!" She said.
I laughed, "Yeah I know."
"Have you slept with him yet? How long have you been seeing him?" She asked.
"Yes." I said smiling.
"Oh my god, how is he?" She asked.
"Awesome. And we've been seeing eachother for like eight months now." I said.
"You go girl! Shit!" She said laughing.
"Isn't his apartment like two blocks down?" She asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"Well, at least you won't be two states away from him. Why does Brian have to be from Florida?" She asked wining.
"Go visit him." I said.
"Yeah, right." She said.
"No, seriously." I told her.
"I'll just wait untill fall." She told me.
"Okay. Fine. But no more wining!" I said.
"Hey, can it!" She said, hitting me with a pillow. I got up and finished packing everything of mine. I didn't have much, so Tristin and I helped each other load up our cars.
"Are you going to any of your other classes?" I asked her.
"No. No point." She said.
"Yeah, same here. Wanna do something?" I asker her.
"I would, but I'm spending the rest of the day witn Brian." She said.
"Okay. Well, call me when you get home." I told her, and gave her a hug. I still had a couple hours before I had to leave, so I went back to the campus.
"Ally!" I heard. I turned around. It was Todd. The only male friend I really made this year.
"Hey, butthead!" I said. He picked me up and spun me in a circle. "What are you doing tonight?" He asked.
"I don't know. . ." I said.
"You're getting trashed with your good friend Todd." He said.
I laughed, "I was thinking of handing in my key tonight and heading home."
"No, you're getting trashed with your good friend Todd." He said again.
"So demanding." I said.
"Damn straight." He said smiling.
"All of my things are packed up though." I said.
"Okay, so go home and come back to my apartment later tonight." He said smiling.
"Fine. You win." I said.
He smiled, slapped my butt and went running downt he hall. "Loser!" I shouted laughing.
I looked at the clock and Alex's last class was almost over. I went and stood outside to wait for it to let out. The door finally opened, and I waited for all the students to leave before I walked back in.
"Excuse me professor? I had a few questions." I said, walking in. Alex was busy looking at some stuff on his desk and didn't know it was me.
"Sure thing, just have a seat and I'll be right with you." He said.
I laughed, and he looked up.
"Oh, it's you. I thought you were packing." He said.
"I finished. I'm very efficiant you know." I told him.
"Yes I know. Are you busy tonight?" He asked.
"Actually, I'm sticking around. My friend Todd wants me to hang out." I told him.
"Oh, damn. I was hoping you would hang out with me." He said pouting.
"I think you can wait until tomorrow night." I said.
"I got a lot of last minute shit to take care of anyway." He said looking at all the paperwork on his desk.
"Sucks to be you." I said.
"Yeah, I'll probably be stuck here pretty late." He said, "What time should I expect you tomorrow?"
"Um, I'm not sure. I will give you a call. Let's plan on sevenish though." I said.
"Okay, see you then." He said standing up.
A lady walked into the classroom. "Thank you Professor Learman. See you next semester." I said smiling.
"Goodbye, Allison. Enjoy your summer." He said. I smiled at the lady as I walked by her. I left the classroom. "Damnit!" I said out loud to myself. I went back to our dorm room. I grabbed my purse and decided to just take my stuff home. It took me about fifteen minutes to get there. I pulled up and it looked like nobody was home. I grabbed one bag and went inside. "HELLO!" I shouted, "I'M HOME!"
"Ally!" I heard my Mom yell. She came running down the stairs. She ran up to me and hugged me smiling. "We weren't expecting you until tomorrow."
"Yeah, I decided to just bring my stuff by tonight. I might stay at the dorms tonight though." I said.
"Christopher!" She shouted, "We're glad you're back." She smiled, "CHRISOPHER!" She screamed.
No answer. "Damn him." She said. She went back upstairs and I heard her pounding on his door. "WHAT?!" He screamed. "Unpack your sisters car!" She shouted. She walked back downstairs and he was behind her. He rolled his eyes at me as he walked by. I smiled. "Christopher, give your sister a hug." She told him. He put one arm around me and kissed my cheek. "Glad you're back to take over the bathroom." He said sarcastically. I kicked him in the knee and he laughed.
I helped him take some of my stuff up to my old room. There wasn't much though. After that I ate lunch with Christopher and my mom.
"So why are you going back to the dorms tonight?" My mom asked
"There is a small party going on." I said.
"Don't get pregnant." Christopher said.
"CHRISTOPHER CHARLES! You shut your mouth!" My mom shouted, throwing a chip at him. We all laughed.
"I'm not going to get pregnant until I am married, dumbie." I said.
"Are you still not dating anyone?" Christopher asked me.
I glared at him. "No." I answered.
"Why not, sweetie?" Mom asked.
"Mom, we've been over this." I said.
"I know you have school to focus on, but you're a smart girl. It was no problem for you to have boyfriends in high school. You still got straight A's." She said.
"Mom, this is college. It's different." I said.
"Oh, honey I went through the same thing. You think it would be too much to handle, but it really isn't." She said. We heard the front door open.
"Is that you, Jeff?" Mom asked.
"Yup." He said.
"Hi, Daddy!" I shouted.
He walked into the kitchen. I ran up to him and gave him a hug. "How is my little princess?" He asked.
I smiled and looked at Christopher. He rolled his eyes. "I'm good Daddy." I said sitting back down at the table.
"Jeff, don't you think Ally could juggle school and a boyfriend?" Mom asked him.
"Maybe she doesn't want to." He said giving Mom a kiss.
"Thank you, Daddy." I said smiling.
He winked at me. "I've got to take a shower." He said and left the kitchen.
"I have to get back soon. I promised some of my friends I would hang out before they left." I said, getting up.
"But you just got here!" My mom said.
"Yeah, but you'll see me tomorrow. Love you." I said, giving my mom a hug.
"Bye assface." I said waving at my brother.
"ALLISON NICOLE!" My mom shouted.
"BYE PENIS EAR!" Christopher yelled.
"CHRISTOPHER!" She yelled. I said bye and left.
I picked up my phone and called Alex to see if maybe he went home.
"Hello?" He said.
"Hi!" I said excited.
"Hey you." He said.
"Are you at home?" I asked.
"Yeah, I brought my work home." He said.
"Can I come by?" I asked, "I'd probably get there in like twenty minutes or so."
"Uh. . ."
"Come on. I want to see you before I go out tonight." I said.
"Yeah, you can come by." He said.
"Yay!" I said.
He laughed, "See you in a bit."
"Bye." I said and hung up. I parked at his apartments and fixed my make up. Then I let my hair down and brushed it with my fingers. I grabbed my purse and walked to his apartment. I was a little nervous, because I had only been to his place once and I didn't even go inside. I knocked on the door and a guy opened it.
"May I help you?" He asked.
"Is Alex around?" I asked.
"Yes he is." He said, "Alex!" He yelled. "Come on in."
I walked in and sat down on the couch. "Would you like something to drink?" He asked.
"Um, sure." I said.
"Water? Pepsi?" He asked.
"Water is fine." I said.
Alex peaked around the corner. He just had a towel around his waist and his hair was wet. "I'll be right out." He said and left.
"I'm Chris by the way." He said.
I smiled. He went into the kitchen. "And you must be Ally." He said.
"Yup." I said.
"I kept hearin' about you, but never saw you. I was starting to wonder if you were made up." He said.
I laughed.
"Either that or like fucked up with one arm or some shit." He said.
I bursted into laughter. He walked over to me and handed me a glass of water. He laughed, "Wow, I didn't think I was that funny." He said.
"Sorry." I said trying to stop laughing as I took the glass from him.
Alex walked out and he was just wearing some jeans. He had no shirt on and he looked really hot. He gave me a kiss and went to the kitchen. Chris followed him.
"Young and hot." I heard Chris whisper.
"Dude, shh." Alex whispered back.
"Where did you meet her?" Chris asked quietly.
"We'll talk later." Alex told him.
"Where the hell would you, holy shit. Is she a student from the school?" Chris asked.
Alex laughed. I peaked around the corner.
"Dude." Chris said holding his hand out for a high five.
Alex laughed again. "It's not like that, man." He said.
"I don't care what it's like." Chris said still holding his hand out. Alex looked over at me and I looked away quickly trying not to laugh. He walked over to me. "Sorry about my roommate, apparently he thinks the half wall is going to make the kitchen SOUNDPROOF!" He said laughing.
"It's okay." I said laughing.
"Let's go back to my room." He said, holding out his hand to help me up. We walked by Chris, and he winked at us. I was trying so hard not to laugh. We walked back to Alex's room, and he shut the door.
"Sorry." He said, sitting on the bed, in the corner of his room. On the other side there was a pretty nice desk with a computer and a bunch of papers scattered around. I was surprised at how big, and pretty neat, with the exception of his desk, his room was.
"Nice." I said, looking around.
"Thanks. So what's up?" He asked.
"I just wanted to see my sexy man before I had to go out tonight." I told him, smiling.
"You are so gorgeous. Come here!" He said, holding out his arms. I walked over to him, and stood between his legs. He wrapped his arms around, lifted up my shirt and kissed my stomach. Then he slid one of his hands in my back pocket to squeeze my butt. Thats when the door opened.
"Wow, you two don't waste any time, do you!" Chris said.
"Damn it Chris!" Alex shouted.
"Sorry, the Dean is on the phone. He said it was important." Chris told him.
"Oh shit. I'll be right back." he said, standing up, and kissing my cheek. He walked out of his room, and Chris stood there with the door open, looking at me.
"Can I help you?" I asked him, feeling a little awkward.
"Sorry." he said, and shut the door. I layed down on Alex's bed and waited for him to come back. After about five minutes, I started to get bored so I picked up a book I saw on his nightstand.
"The Psychology and Philosphy of Sex by Margaret A. Brown." I read aloud to myself. "Interesting." I flipped it open and started to read the introduction.
He walked back in a few minutes later. "He wants me to do some safe sex promotion." He said sounding irritated.
"Oh." I said closing the book. He looked at it and smiled. He looked a little embarassed. "It's not for my own reference." He said.
I just nodded smiling and put it back. I noticed a framed picture of a very pretty thin blond girl on his desk. She looked like she was in her late twenties or so. I picked up the picture. "Who is this?" I asked.
"Oh, that's my best friend Cailin." He said walking over to me. I just nodded and set it back down.
"I grew up with her." He said.
"Oh." I said.
"Hey, Alex!" Chris shouted. "Cailin is here!"
He looked at the ceiling and sighed. "Be right back again. I'm sorry." He said. He left the room and closed the door. I layed down on his bed. It was a lot different seeing him somewhere other than the school. He walked in with her looking very nervous. I jumped up. "This is. . . um, Allison." He said. "So, nice to meet you." She said smiling. She looked like a super model and it made me uncomfortable. "Okay, so I'm going to walk her out and I'll be right back." He said.
"Sorry to interupt." She said. She did not look like she was sorry to interupt. "Sure you are." I said rudly under my breath as Alex shut the door behind him. I picked up my purse and pulled out my chapstick to reaply. Chris walked into the room. "Boy is he getting a mouthfull from her." He said.
"Why?" I asked.
"She's pissed off because you're young." He said.
"I don't think I like her very much." I said softly.
He laughed, "I know I don't like her very much."
I laughed.
"Don't worry about her. Alex would never date her or start listening to her." He said.
I smiled. "Hope not."
Alex walked into the room. He looked mad. "It's probably time for you to go now, hu?" Alex said.
Chris shook his head looking annoyed and left the room. "No, I can stay a little longer." I said smiling.
He looked at the floor and put his hands in his pockets. "Should we be doing this?" He asked, still looking at the floor.
I felt like crying. I grabbed my purse. "So, I guess Cailin is running your life now." I said. I stormed passed him and out the front door. I got in my car and pulled away. I saw him walk out of his apartment and watch me. I headed to Todd's apartment. I decided to stop at the grocery store to get a six pack of beer for myself.
I knew Alex and I wouldn't last forever, but I was hoping it would last a little bit longer. I sighed. I always looked way to far into things. When I got to Todd's I decided to just forget about and have fun.
"Hey! You came over!" Todd shouted when he opened the door.
"Yeah! Am I the only one?" I asked, looking around.
"Nah, I'm sure more people will show up in a bit. Come on in!" He said.
"You didn't have to bring your own beer." He said taking the six pack from me. He put it in the refrigerator. We each grabbed a beer and I followed him to his bedroom. He started showing me his new model car and explaining to me what he was going to do with it. I only caught bits and peices of what he said. I kept thinking about Alex. "So, should I paint it red or yellow?" He asked. "Ally, are you okay?"
I looked at him. "Yeah sorry." I said. My phone rang. It was Alex. I ignored it. When it stopped ringing, I sent him a text message saying I was fine. He texted me back saying: Call me tomorrow baby.
"Who is that?" Todd asked as he read it. I quickly put my phone in my purse.
"Nobody." I said.
I looked at him and he had his arms out like he knew I was keeping something from him. "Todd, it's nothing." I said.
"Are you seeing someone?" He asked.
"Kind of. Anyway, I don't want to talk about it." I said trying very hard not to cry.
"Ally." He said puting his hand under my chin and pushing my head up so I was looking at him. "You look upset. I don't think you were listening to a word I said before. What's on your mind?"
"I don't want to talk about it." I said.
"Ally." He said softly.
"I can't talk about it." I told him.
"Of course you can." He said.
"No, I can't." I said again. He gave me a weird look.
"I would, but I can't say anything. I'm sorry."
"Ally, now you have to tell me. Whats going on?" He asked. I decided to just tell him about Alex, but not mention he was a Professor.
"So you don't know if it is serious or not? I don't see the problem." He said.
"The problem is, we probably shouldn't be dating." I explained.
"Why not?" He asked.
"Because. Okay. He's older." I told him.
"So, it's not like he's a teacher or something. Age doesn't always matter." He said. When I didn't say anything he got a look of shock on his face.
"Ally!" He shouted.
"I shouldn't have said anything." I told him.
I started crying. "I just like him a lot." I sobbed.
"Who is it?" He asked.
"I can't tell you." I said.
"Was he your teacher or just one at the school?" He asked.
"He was mine." I answered.
"Professor Houston?" He asked.
"Ew!" I said giggling.
"He's younger." He said smiling.
"And also a total dork!" I said laughing.
He smiled, "Just tell me."
"Learman." I said.
His eyes got big. "Are you serious? Wow."
I nodded. "Todd, he really is a good guy."
He smiled. "He is pretty cool and I'm sure you find him attractive, but Ally. . ." He said tucking my hair behind my ears.
"I know." I said.
"I trust your judgement though. And technically he isn't your teacher anymore." He said.
I nodded, "I just wish that Cailin chick would back off."
"Eh, she's probably just trying to look after him." He said.
"She's dumb! She doesn't even know me! She probably just wants him and she is jelous!" I shouted.
"Ally, stop." He said.
I gave him a hug. "I'm jelous though." He said laughing.
"Shut up." I said. He pulled away and smiled. "He's older than me, he's hotter than me, probably more experienced too. If you know what I mean. . ." He said.
"Todd!" I said laughing and pushing him playfully.
"Well, I am, and I bet he is." He said, winking this time.
"STOP! Who are you seeing?" I asked, wanting to change the subject.
"No one. That Janice chick turned out to be a total bitch." He said, with a snarl on his face. It made me laugh.
"What?" He asked.
"You just look funny." I told him, sticking my tounge out.
"So, what are your parents going to think when you bring him home?" He asked.
"I'm not bringing him home!" I said laughing.
"You're going to have to eventually." He said.
"I'm not introducing him to anyone unless we end up getting serious." I said.
He hugged me again. He opened his beer and handed it to me. I took a sip of it. We heard some people walk into the apartment being loud. "Should we go out there?" I asked.
He shook his head. "Can we just hang out in here together?" He asked.
"I guess." I said.
"My roomate has some people over too. We can go out there if you want." He said.
"No, it's okay. You and I havn't hung out in a while." I told him.
"No, we havn't." He said, smiling.
There was a knock at the door.
"Yeah?" He shouted.
"Hey, you coming out loser?" A guy shouted.
"I have company!" He yelled back.
"Well, hurry up and make love to your hand so we can hang out damn it! Rich and Rachel are here!" The guy shouted.
"I'll be out later!" Todd yelled back.
"Okay, but we've got more people coming. You better not miss out!" The guy shouted one last time and walked away. I was laughing so hard still from the hand comment.
"What?" He asked.
"Don't have girls over often?" I asked.
"My roomate has some people over too. We can go out there if you want." He said.
"No, it's okay. You and I havn't hung out in a while." I told him.
"No, we havn't." He said, smiling.
There was a knock at the door.
"Yeah?" He shouted.
"Hey, you coming out loser?" A guy shouted.
"I have company!" He yelled back.
"Well, hurry up and make love to your hand so we can hang out damn it! Rich and Rachel are here!" The guy shouted.
"I'll be out later!" Todd yelled back.
"Okay, but we've got more people coming. You better not miss out!" The guy shouted one last time and walked away. I was laughing so hard still from the hand comment.
"What?" He asked.
"Don't have girls over often?" I asked.
"Not really." He said. He turned on the TV. I got a text message, so I reached for my purse and grabbed it. It was from Alex. It said: Call me if you can. I rolled my eyes and then smiled. I dialed his number and waited for him to answer.
"Hi." He said answering the phone.
"Hi." I said.
"Can you come by after the party?" He asked.
"Um, I'll probably be here pretty late." I said. I really wanted to go see him, but I didn't want to ditch Todd.
"Oh. . . okay." He said sounding dissapointed.
"I can come by tomorrow though." I said.
"I'll leave my key under the mat. You can come by whenever you leave the party." He said.
"Okay." I said excited. "See you later then."
"Bye." He said.
"Bye." I said and hung up.
"Your Professor?" Todd asked.
"Yeah." I said, trying not to smile.
"Oh, damn. You can go if you want." Todd said.
"No, I don't mind hanging out with you for a little bit." I told him.
"You sure? I'm not as Hot." He said.
"Oh stop! You are still cool beans." I told him.
"That was retarded!" He said, laughing.
"Hey! Shut it!" I shouted.
We watched TV for about a half hour and I really wanted to go see Alex. I stuck it out for a couple hours though. I didn't want to look rude. "Mind if I head out now?" I asked.
"Not at all." He said.
I gave him a hug. "Bye, thanks for having me over." I said smiling.
"Come over any time." He said.
"I'll call you tomorrow. Maybe we can meet up for dinner or something." I said.
"Okay." He said. He followed me out. There were a lot of people there. He walked me out to my car and gave me another hug. "Bye." I said as I got in my car. He watched me pull away waving. I drove to Alex's apartment. The key was under the mat, like he had said. I quietly unlocked the door and went inside. I tip toed to his bedroom and opened the door slowly. I set the key down on his desk and closed the door. I set down my purse and he rolled over. He opened his eyes. "Hey." He said quietly.
"Hi." I said taking my shoes off. I slid off my jeans and crawled into the bed next to him. "Well, this is new." I said puting my arms around him. He smiled. "Yeah, it's a little weird." He said.
"Yes, it is." I said.
"I don't mean in a bad way. . ." He said.
"I know." I said.

After we had sex he wrapped his arm around me.
"You're sleeping with me tonight, right?" He asked.
"Of course." I told him, kissing his hand.
"Good. This is a nice change." He said, and smiled at me.
The next morning, we woke up to Chris knocking on the door saying Cailin was there. "Alex!" Chris shouted. Alex opened his eyes and sat up. He put his boxers on and walked to the door. He opened it slowly and peaked out. "Tell her to come back later." He told Chris.
"Just get your ass up and come out to breakfast with me!" Cailin shouted laughing.
He looked over at me. "Hold on!" He shouted to her. He closed the door. I sat up. "I'm sorry." He said yawning.
"I'll just meet up with you later." I said getting up. He walked over to me and put his arms around me. He started kissing me and layed me back down. "Chris!" Alex shouted. "What?" Chris asked at the door. Alex stood up and put the covers over me. "Come here." Alex told him. He opened the door.
"Go have breakfast with her for me." Alex said hugging me.
"Come on sleepy ass." Cailin said walking up to the door. Chris pushed her away lightly. "You're having breakfast with me." He told her smiling. "What is going on?" She asked pushing him out of the way. She walked into the room and Alex jumped up. "You're having sleep overs with her?!" She shouted.
"Cailin, she's my girlfriend." He told her. I couldn't help but smile. It was the first time he ever called me his girlfriend. Chris looked at me and smiled. "Let's go, Cailin." He said puting his arm around her. She looked like she was on the verge to tears. I kind of felt bad. Chris walked her out and closed the door. "Sorry." Alex said sighing.
"It's okay." I said. He climbed back into bed next to me and turned on the TV. We layed back and I rested my head on his chest. He started running his fingers through my hair. "What do you want to watch?" He asked.
"I don't care." I said smiling.
"Really?" He asked.
"Am I really your girlfriend?" I asked him.
"Yeah. Just don't let word get around." He said, smiling.
"Of course I wont." I said. He put it on cartoons, which I hated, but I didn't really care. I thought it was kind of funny.
"I'm eventually going to have to leave, you know." I said, yawning.
"Yeah, but not yet." He said, holding onto my hand. I layed with him for a while not wanting to get up. My cell phone rang a few minutes later.
"Hello Christopher." I answered, not really expecting or wanting to hear from my brother.
"Hey, Mom wants to know where you are. She's worried." He said.
"What? Why?" I asked.
"Becuase she's mom. When are you coming home?" He asked.
"Later!" I yelled, and hung up.
He laughed, "Who was that?"
"My stupid brother." I said.
"Ah."
"Do you have any brothers or sisters?" I asked.
"I have a brother, David. He's twenty-one and I have a sister, Alicia. She's twenty-five." He said.
I laughed, "Is your brother cute?"
He glared at me smiling. "Does it matter?"
"I'm just kidding." I said.
"You'll meet them eventually." He said.
"I will?" I asked surprised.
"Yeah." He said. "Of course."
I smiled, "When?"
"I don't know. We ussually get together and go bowling once a month. My Mom and Dad go too." He said, "You want to go with next time? We're going again on Sunday."
"Really?" I asked smiling.
"Yeah. Why are you acting so surprised?" He asked laughing.
I shrugged my shoulders.
"I might hide this whole thing from the school for a while, but I'm not going to hide you from my family." He said. "Just don't tell my parents you were my student."
We both laughed. "I won't."
"I can tell them I'm older if you want." I suggested.
"No. I don't want you to lie." He said.
"Just checking. I'm going to have to leave soon. I guess my mom is worried." I sighed.
"Oh. I don't want you to leave though." He said, brushing my hair out of my face.
"But I have too. I'll call later or something." I said, kissing him.
"You better." He said, and I got up and got dressed, really slowly.
"Okay, stop teasing me." He said.
"What? I don't know what you are talking about." I said, slowly sliding my jeans over my butt.
"Okay, stop. Get your ass back in bed. I'm not done with you yet!" He said. I started laughing, undressed again, and climbed in bed with him.

My phone rang again. I reached over the bed and picked it up.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Hey, it's Mom."
"Mom, I'll be home soon!" I said laughing.
"Well, hurry. Grandpa's coming over for breakfast." She said, "He wants to see you."
"Ah. Okay. I'll be right there." I said and hung up.
"You gotta go?" He asked.
I nodded smiling. "Maybe I can come back later." I said.
"Okay." He said giving me a kiss.
I got dressed again, and drove home. I hadn't seen my Grandpa in a while, so I was excited. When I got there breakfast was ready, and everyone was waiting on me. I was hoping to get to shower or something first.
"Little Ally!" My grandpa said, holiding up his arms for a hug. I walked over and hugged him, taking the seat next to him.
Christopher rolled his eyes. I just smiled.
"Where were you?" Christopher asked.
"None of you business." I said.
"Did you stay at your dorm, honey?" Mom asked.
"No." I said, "Um. . ."
Why didn't I just say yes? I always had trouble lying to my parents. I never really had to before, because I didn't do things they wouldn't approve of. I decided to just tell them I had a boyfriend, since he was telling his family.
I looked up and they were all staring at me. "Okay, so I have good news." I said smiling.
"What is it?" Mom asked.
"I have a boyfriend. I have for a little while. I just didn't know if it was going to work out so I wanted to be sure before I told you guys." I explained.
My Mom got a huge smile on her face. "Sweetie, you could have told us." She said, "Are you going to bring him home so we can meet him?"
"Uh. . ." I said giggling.
"We'd love to meet him." Dad said.
"Yeah, Ally." Christopher said.
I glared at Christopher and he laughed.
"Some time." I said.
"Why not bring him for dinner next Sunday?" Mom asked.
"Um. . ." I said, "I guess I can see if he is available."
"Great!" Mom said excited.
I just smiled. I started to feel very nervous, as if Alex were there meeting them at that moment.
I knew they wouldn't quite aprove. I was hoping at least my mom would be supportive.
"What is his name?" My mom asked.
"Alex." I told her. Christopher kept looking at me. He always knew if I was trying to hide something.
"What does this young man do?" My dad asked. I didn't know what to say. If I said he was a teacher, I was afraid my parents would flip out.
"Oh, leave her alone!" My grandpa shouted. "She'll bring him over for dinner, you can grill them then." He said laughing.
"I was just asking what he did for a living." Dad said.
I started to think if it would actually be worse for them to find out in front of Alex. I thought about it for a second and realized I would rather them find out now, rather than when he was there.
"He teachers Psychology." I said.
"Oh, wow. Where?" Mom asked.
Christopher started laughing.
I hesitated. My heart started beating really fast. "He's off for the summer. I'm not exactly sure where he will be teaching next semester." I said.
Dad gave me a strange look. "How old is he?" He asked.
"He's thirty." I said.
"Thirty?!" Mom asked laughing. "You can't be serious!"
I giggled, "Nope. I'm totally serious."
"So, you're dating a cradle robbing perv?" Christopher said laughing.
"Shut up!" I shouted.
"I'm sure he's a nice gentelmen." Grandpa said rubbing my back.
Dad didn't say anything, but I could tell he wasn't very happy.
"Honey, you couldn't possibly be in the same place with such a huge age difference." Mom said.
"And why not? You always said I was mature for my age. It's only 9 years." I told her.
"ONLY!" My dad said, starting to get angry.
"He's a great guy, very brilliant. You just have to trust my judgement." I said.
"I don't believe this." My mom said, resting her head in her hands.
"What a perv. He just wants your young ass." Christopher said.
"CHRIS! Go to your room!" My dad shouted.
"What did I do? I'm not bone-" Chris started to say.
"NOW!" Dad shouted.
"I think you are all overreacting. I seem to remember being upset when my little girl brought home a certain young man." Grandpa said, looking at my mom and dad.
"And why not? You always said I was mature for my age. It's only 9 years." I told her.
"ONLY!" My dad said, starting to get angry.
"He's a great guy, very brilliant. You just have to trust my judgement." I said.
"I don't believe this." My mom said, resting her head in her hands.

"CHRIS! Go to your room!" My dad shouted.

"NOW!" Dad shouted.

"I want to meet him tomorrow." Mom said. She looked like she was trying her hardest to be supportive.
"I guess I can arrange that." I said, "As long as Daddy can keep his cool." We all looked at him.
"Well, I may not say much then." He said.
"He'll be fine, sweetie." Mom said.
"Can I finish eating?" Christopher said peaking into the kitchen.
"Go to your room!" Mom shouted.
"How stupid! I didn't do anything wrong!" Christopher shouted.
"Do you want me to wip you, son?!" Dad yelled.
"I'm going to wash that mouth out with soap if you don't go back to your room!" Mom screamed.
I sighed loudly. "How old is he now?" Grandpa asked.
"Seventeen, Pop." Mom said.
"Where'd he learn to talk like that?" Grandpa asked.
"Beats me." Mom said.
We all looked at her.
"What?" She asked.
"Nothing." My dad said, trying to keep everything calm. I was so nervous about bringing Alex over. My dad Majored in Pysichology in college, so I knew he'd probably get along great with Alex if he gave him a chance.
"How's work going dad?" I asked.
"It's going. Things have been pretty crazy. They are closing down our sister company, so things have been interesting." He said.
"Mom?" I asked.
"I'm still just working part time at the child care center. Things have been good." She said.
"I brought my grade point average back up to a 3.5!" I told them. I had forgotten all about the good news. My sophmore year in college I screwed around a little bit and dropped down to a 2.0. It took a lot of hard work this last semester to bring it back up. I was suprised I was able to do it in only one semester.
"Thats great!" Grandpa shouted.
"I'm proud of my little girl." He said.
"You know, you guys should probably let Christopher eat. He was being a jerk, but he is 17." I suggested.
"Yeah. CHRIS!!!!!" My dad shouted.
"Dad?" Christopher answered, coming around the corner.
"Go ahead and finish your breakfast, but no smart ass comments." My dad told him.
"Why don't you see if your boyfriend can come for dinner tonight?" Grandpa suggested, "Then I can meet him while I am here."
"Oh." I giggled, "I don't know about that, Grandpa."
"Sounds like a great idea." My Mom said smiling.
I quickly finished my breakfast. "Maybe." I said going back to my bedroom. I started unpacking one of my bags and called Alex.
"Hey you." I said.
"Hey, what you up to?" He asked.
"Ugh. I just had a very interesting breakfast with my family. I told them about you." I said.
"Why'd you do that?" He asked.
"I figured since you were telling your family. . ." I said.
"What did you tell them?" He asked sounding worried.
"All I said was that I have a boyfriend named Alex. They asked questions. I told them you teach Psychology." I said.
"Okay, I think you told them a little too soon." He said, "Now I'm freaking out."
"What? Why?" I asked.
"Ally, I could get fired from my job." He said.
"But, you said you weren't going to hide me from your family, so I figured I didn't have to hide you from mine." I explained.
He didn't say anything.
"I'm sorry." I said starting to get upset.
"It's okay." He said.
"They want to meet you. . ."
"Ally, if they find out I was your teacher. . ."
"They won't. I promise." I said.
"Okay." He said.
"Please don't worry about it. They won't find out." I said.
"Thank you." He said.
"Would you want to come over for dinner tonight?" I asked.
"Tonight?!" He asked surprised.
"You don't have to." I said.
"Wow, um. I guess so." He said, "I bet your father wants to kick my ass, hu?"
"Everything will be fine." I said.
"I'm already nervous." He said laughing.
"I promise it will be fine." I said.
"What time?" He asked.
I gave him directions and told him to come around five. I knew my Mom would still be cooking and my Dad would be in the shower, so I would get a chance to fill him in on some things and show him around the house before it was time to eat.
"Thank you for doing this." I said.
"No problem." He said, "See you in a few hours."
After I hung up the phone, I took a deep breath. I was so nervous, my hands kept shaking. I was able to unpack most of my things before I decided to take a break and get a shower.
After my shower, I got ready and then called Tristin. I had to tell her everything that just happened.

"Yeah, you might need to meet up for a drink." She said laughing again.
"No kidding." I said.

I put on some jeans and my brown haltor top. I did my make up and straightened my hair so I could wear it down. My phone rang and it was Alex. "I don't know if I could do this. Should I be doing this so soon?" He asked.
I laughed, "Stop freaking out. It will be fine. I promise."
"Well, maybe I should come earlier." He said.
"Why?"
"So I can talk to you first." He said, "And I am going to call you when I pull up so you can come out and meet me. I don't want to be greeted by your Dad or something."
He sounded so nervous, it made me laugh. "Okay. You can come whenever you want." I said.
"I'm coming now. I'm ready to go." He said.
I looked at the clock. It was only 2pm. "Okay, weirdo." I said.
He laughed, "See you in fifteen minutes."
"Bye." I said and hung up.
I put some socks on and went out to the kitchen. I poured myself a glass of water and sat down at the table. I just sat there until Alex called when he was pulling up in the driveway. I walked out to meet him. I gave him a hug and he pushed me away. "What if someone is watching?" He asked.
"Stop freaking out!" I whispered loudly. I gave him a hug and he hugged me back. I took his hand and we started walking up to the door. My Mom was walking down the hall and saw us. He let go of my hand quickly as we walked inside. I laughed. "Mom, this is Alex." I said smiling.
"Nice to finally meet you." My Mom said.
He smiled and shook her hand. "You're a little early." Mom said.
"Yeah, I am going to show him around." I said.
We went to my bedroom and I shut the door. He was sweating. "Oh my gosh, calm down." I said laughing.
"I shouldn't be here." He said.
"Don't be silly. My grandpa will be on our side." I told him.
"I'm sorry. I just feel like an old perv or something." He said.
"Well, you shouldn't. I think we both really care about each other. It will be fine." I told him. He took a deep breath.
"You are so funny!" I said.
"I can't help it! I'm so nervous." He said. Have gave him a hug, and kissed him.
"Better?" I asked.
"Yeah. I guess." He said, and smiled.
"Here, I'll show you around. I think my Grandpa wants to meet you too. You'll like him." I said.
He sat down on my bed. "Can we just stay in here for a few minutes?" He asked.
"Alex, you can't just hide out in here the whole time." I said.
"I feel like I am going to get what I deserve." He said.
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"They're going to find out, then I'm going to get in trouble and lose my job." He said.
"Would you please stop talking like that?" I said getting frustrated.
"This is all so different now, Ally. We're not in school just sneaking around. This is a lot different." He said.
"What are you saying?" I asked.
"Ally." He said standing up and walking over to me. "You're beautiful and young. . . and sweet." He said. "Come on, you don't want to be stuck with an old guy like me."
"You're not old." I said quietly.
"I think we should have thought this through first." He said.
"Are you breaking up with me?" I asked.
"I just think we should have taken things a lot slower. It's moving quicker than I can think." He said.
I didn't say anything, so he continued. "You should be out partying and enjoying your college years."
"I am!" I shouted starting to cry.
"Ally, don't get upset." He said, "This is not a good time."
"Oh, but you thought it was a good time to bring all of this up?" I asked crying.
"Don't cry." He said quietly hugging me.
"But I really care about you. I thought you felt the same way." I told him.
"I do, but I feel like I'm taking away some important things. You are so young. When I was your age I wouldn't have dreamed being in anything serious." He tried to explain.
"You aparently don't now either." I said. He started to say something, but I stopped him. "You know I'm not like most people my age. Hell, you thought I worked at the college when you first met me. I don't understand the issue. I'm not your student anymore. No one has to know we were involved when I was." I told him.
"That doesn't matter. You are still a student, period." He said. I started crying some more.
"So, what does this mean?" I asked him, very afraid to hear his answer.
"It was wrong of me to start this up in the first place." He said. He put his hands on my arms and squeezed them lightly. "Ally, I think you should come over tonight and we can talk about this and tell eachother everything we are feeling."
I nodded.
"Tell your family I had a family emergency or something." He said.
I pulled away from him. "I think I've lied enough for you."
"Ally." He said hugging me. "Come over tonight and we'll talk this all through." He said quietly.
"You act like I'm sixteen or something." I said.
"Come by tonight, okay?" He said.
"I guess." I said.
"We'll talk through everything." He said.
"Okay." I said.
"Ally-"
"JUST GO!" I said, pushing him out the door. I watched him leave through my bedroom window. I layed down in my bed and there was a knock on my door.
"What?" I asked. The door opened and my mom peeked her head in.
"Is everything okay? I saw Alex leave." She said.
"Yeah. I'm not sure things are going to work out." I told her.
"Why?" She asked.
"9 years, that's why. I guess he feels like I'm too young and shouldn't be wasting time in a relationship with an older guy." I told her.
"Oh honey, I'm sorry." She said. She even sounded sincere.
"It's okay. We're gonna talk more about it later. I feel like everyone is treating me like I'm twelve or something!" I told her, starting to tear up.
She came in and closed the door. She sat down on the bed next to me and gave me a hug. "He is much older than you, sweetie." She said.
"I know." I said.
"Where did you meet him?" She asked sounding concerned.
"School." I blurted out crying.
"Oh, honey." She said hugging me.
"I'm sorry." I said.
"No reason to apologize. You are old enough to make your own choices. You're an adult. He's an adult too." She said.
"Please don't tell Daddy I met him at school." I said.
"I won't." She said, "You know we've always been able to keep our little secrets. I don't plan on changing that any time soon."
"Thank you." I said.
"Now wash your face and come help me with dinner." She said smiling.
I nodded and she left.
I got up and washed my face, feeling a little better. I went to the kitchen and Grandpa was in the kitchen helping mom.
"What are we making?" I asked.
"Pot roast, veggies, salad, and Grandpa is making his famous cheesecake for dessert." Mom said.
"Wow, that sounds pretty good!' I said, grabbing the potato peeler to help my mom peel some veggitables.
"It's too bad your boyfriend can't make it. I wonder if he got that flu that's been going around." Grandpa said. I looked at Mom and she smiled.
"Oh, I'm sure he will be fine." I said trying not to laugh.
We finished making dinner and we all sat down to eat. It was nice this time and nobody argued. We just talked and told stories. We mostly listened to Grandpa talk about his childhood. "Well, I have to go. I'll be back in a little bit." I said taking my last bite.
"Okay, sweetie." Mom said.
"Goodnight." Dad said.
I grabbed my purse and headed out. I called Tristin to tell her what was going on.
"Are you serious? What a flake!" She said.
"Yeah, tell me about it. I guess I'll see whats going on." I said.
"Hey, if you want to head over for a drink or something, swing on bye. You know my parents always have plenty of alcohol, and they love to share!" She said, and I laughed.
"Well, I'm close to Alex's. I'll call you later." I said, and we hung up. I walked to his door, and hesitated before I knocked.
Cailin answered the door. "You have got to be kidding me." She said sounding annoyed. I tried so hard not to start crying. Chris walked over to the door. "He's in his room." He said.
"Thanks." I said forcing out a smile.
I walked over to his door. "Alex." I said, probably too quietly.
"He might be taking a nap or something." Chris said walking over to me. He opened the door. Alex was sitting at his computer sleeping with his head on his desk. Chris laughed. "Wake his ass up." He said. I walked into his room and Chris left closing the door. "Alex." I said tapping him on the shoulder. He lifted his head up quickly. "Oh hey." He said. "Shit. I wanted to get this paperwork done. I guess I will have to work on it tomorrow."
"Do you want me to come back?" I asked.
"No." He said, "I mean I am too tired to do it apparently." He laughed.
I just smiled. "Come here." He said holding his arms out. I gave him a hug. He held me tight.
"So. . ." He said letting go of me. "Do you think we can make this work?"
"Yes. I do." I said.
He just nodded and picked up his pencil. He started tapping it on his desk.
"We can take things as slow as you'd like." I said.
"I think that is what's freaking me out the most." He said, "I'm not ready to meet your parents. I'm sorry. Maybe you're not ready to meet mine either. I didn't look at it from both sides."
"I don't mind meeting your family." I said smiling.
"I'm sorry I freaked out at your parents house. I should have told you right away that I didn't think I could do it yet." He said.
"It's okay." I said.
"Are we going to the movie or what?!" Cailin shouted from the living room.
"Take Chris!" He shouted.
"Fuck you! I came over to hang out with you, not your annoying roomate!" Cailin shouted. Alex rolled his eyes.
"She drives me crazy sometimes. She's cool untill I start seeing someone." Alex said.
"Is she jealous?" I asked.
"I hope not." He said, shuddering. I laughed, and sat down on Alex's lap. I can go if you had plans." I told him.
"No, it's okay." He said. Just then the door opened and Cailin walked in.
"Are you kidding me?" She asked, looking at us.
"No. We can hang out another time." Alex told her. She just rolled her eyes, and left. Chris walked in to the room.
"She is such a bitch sometimes." He said, shutting Alex's door behind him.
Cailin stormed into the room again. She was crying. "You keep blowing me off like this and it's rude!" She screamed. I stood up.
"Cailin, don't cry." He said giving her a hug. She peaked up at me and gave me a really dirty look. "I think I'm going to go." I said.
"Ally, I want you to stay." He said, "We didn't really finish talking."
He let go of her and she sat down on his bed wiping her eyes. "Baby, please come to the movie with me." She begged.
"We have important things we need to discuss, Cailin." He explained pointing to me.
"I bet." She said standing up. "I'm so sure you're going to be talking."
"Cailin, what's goin on with you?" He asked.
"If you don't know, then you are blind." She said leaving the room and slamming the door.
"Well, you sure act more mature than her." He said.
I smiled.
"Let's watch a movie or something." He said.
"You don't think you should go after her?" I asked feeling bad.
"No, cause that is exactly what she wants me to do." He said, "If she would have acted like an adult and asked me to go talk to her, then I would have. But, I'm not going to play her games."
"What do you want to see?" He asked me.
"What do you have?" I asked.
"I meant go out to a movie." He said.
"Uh, is that a good idea?" I asked him.
"I don't know. I just want to go out with you." He said.
"Okay." I said.
"I wish I didn't worry so much." He said.
"It's understandable though." I said.
He smiled and nodded.
"You want to rent a movie on Pay Per View?" He asked.
"Sure." I said smiling.
"Mind if I see if Chris wants to watch?" He asked.
"Not at all." I said smiling.
We walked out to the living room and Chris was on the couch watching TV.
"Wanna watch a movie with us?" Alex asked Chris.
"Sure! What are you guys watching?" He asked. The both turned and looked at me. I shrugged my shoulders.
"Something not shitty?" I suggested, and Chris laughed.
"I like her." He said.

Chris followed us back into Alex's bedroom and we all sat down on the bed and Alex started flipping through the channels to see what movies were available. "Nacho Libre." Chris said. "You want to watch that one?" Alex asked me.
"Sure." I said smiling.
"Okay, we'll watch that." Alex said.
"Sounds good to me!" I told him. I was sitting next to Alex, and Chris was on the other side of him.
It was hard getting used to spending time with Alex, outside of the College. I liked it though.
"I'm going to get something to drink. Can I get you guys something?" Alex asked.

"Whatever you're getting for yourself is fine." I said. Alex got up and walked out to the kitchen.
"Sounds good to me!" I told him. I was sitting next to Alex, and Chris was on the other side of him.
It was hard getting used to spending time with Alex, outside of the College. I liked it though.
"I'm going to get something to drink. Can I get you guys something?" Alex asked.

"Whatever you're getting for yourself is fine." I said. Alex got up and walked out to the kitchen.
He came back with two glasses of water and a beer for Chris.
"Thanks." I said as he handed me the glass of water.
The movie started and Alex put his arm around me.
"Hey, no monkey business with me in the room." Chris said, and I laughed at him.
I was laughing so hard during the movie, I had to set my water down so I wouldn't spill it. Chris and Alex kept laughing at me. When the movie was over my cheeks hurt!
"I don't know what was funnier, the movie, or listening to you laugh so hard!" Chris said.
"I couldn't help it! That was hilarious!" I said. I started laughing again when I thought of funny parts.
"You should probably get home now, hu?" Alex said.
"Probably." I said.
"See you later." Chris said.
"Goodnight." I said. I gave Alex a kiss on the cheek and left.
As I was backing out, Todd called me wanting to hang out. So I told him to just come by my parents house in about a half hour.
When I got home Grandpa had left. Mom and Dad where just getting ready for bed and Christopher was up in his room playing music.
I went to my room, changed into my PJ's and then went to the kitchen to find something to snack on.
"Oh Hi honey." My mom said when I walked into the kitchen.
"Hi." I said.
She started making some coffee. "How did it go?" She asked.
I shrugged my shoulders. "I'm not sure if it's going to last." I said.
"I'm sorry." She said.
"It's okay." I said.
"Well, we are glad to have you home for the summer." She said.
I smiled, "Yeah it feels good to be back." I said, "Oh, Todd is going to be coming by to hang out, just so you know."
"Okay." She said, "And you are wearing that?" She asked.
I giggled, "It's just Todd."
"Well, you said it might not work out with Alex. Maybe Todd could be the boy of your dreams." She said smiling.
"Momma, I don't think so." I said.
"You had a big crush on him at the beginning of the year." She said laughing.
"I know, but then I met Alex." I said.
She gave me a look like I was crazy. "Oh, hush." I said laughing.
"Well, I just want you to be happy." She said. I smiled.
"Thanks. Me too." I told her.
She hugged me, then poured two cups of coffee for her and my dad.
"Need some help?" I asked her.
"No, I got it." She said, smiling. She walked back to their room, and there was a knock on the door.
"Hi Todd." I said, opening the door.
"Hey, whats up?" He said, walking in.
"Do you want me to make popcorn or something?" I asked.
"If you want." He said.
"Eh, I'll just get some chips." I said opening the cabinet. I got a bag of chips and grabbed us each a Pepsi. We went to my bedroom and I closed the door. He sat down on the floor in front of my bed and turned on the TV. "Saturday Night Live?" He asked.
"Sure." I said smiling.
I sat down next to him and handed him his Pepsi.
"Thanks." He said.
"Any time." I said nudging him on the shoulder with mine.

He put his hand on my leg and laughed. I looked down at his hand and he moved it quickly. I giggled and started watching the TV.
"So, still dating the Professor?" He asked.
I laughed, "Don't call him the Professor. That's sounds retarded."
"Well he is one." He said.
"Shut up." I said laughing.
"Well?"
"Yeah, I think so." I said grabbing a chip.
"You think so?" He asked.
"Well, I'm not sure if it'll work out. Ever since we started seeing each other outside of school, it's been a little wierd. We've been seeing eachother outside of school for a day now." I explained.
"Oh, wow." He said.
"Yeah, tell me about it." I said. "So, did you manage to pass your English class?"
"Todd is good at talking his way into passing classes." He said.
"You dork. Maybe you should try next semester." I said laughing.
He threw a chip at me and hit my chin. "I'm good at persuading people. It's what I do best." He said.
"Uh huh." I said picking up the chip and throwing it at him.
"Hey, I'll make one great salesman one day." He said.
"That is your big plan for the future? A salesman?" I asked.
"No. I don't know what I want to do." He said.
"Still? You've been at school a year longer then me, and you still don't know?" I asked.
"Hey, I've thought about it." He said.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah, But I just don't think I'm cut out to be an astronaut or a rock star." He said. It made me laugh so hard.
"Yeah, well persuasive slacker isn't a good profession either." I said.
"Says you. I bet I'd be pretty good at it." He said. He put his hand on my leg again, and I looked at him.
"I saw a chip." He said.
"So you are holding it there?" I asked.
"I brushed it away." he lied.
"Whatever! You are so full of shit!" I said.
He pulled his hand away quickly with a mean look on his face. "Well, excuse me." He said starting to laugh. He made a serious face again. "Excuse me for not being a good looking succesful college professor in my thirties who goes after his students." He said. He looked like he was trying hard not to laugh. I poked him in the stomach and he started laughing.
"I swear you are the biggest dork ever." I said.
"And proud of it." He said.
"Are we watching this or what?" I asked pointing at the TV.
"Maybe I could buy a nice suit and pretend I am a collge professor from another school. . ." He said pretending to think.
"Yeah, that'll work." I said sarcastically.
"Uh, last time I checked, you were my friend and you were suppose to be supportive of my hopes and dreams." He said.
"Oh, shut up!" I said laughing.

He laughed and leaned back up against the bed. "It's going to work. You'll see." He said.
"No, I won't see." I said laughing.
"Yes you will." He said, "And I will videotape it for evidence."
"You're gross!" I said laughing. I grabbed the pillow off my bed and hid him in the head with it.
"Oh and you know what?" He said with a smile on his face as he set the pillow down next to him. "I could totally sell the tapes to like Girls Gone Wild or something."
"Grooooooooooss!" I shouted laughing.
"And then I'll be rich." He said smiling.
"Honey?" My Mom said knocking on the door.
"Yeah?" I asked.
She opened the door and peaked in. "Could you keep it down? You're Father is ready to throw you out." She laughed.
"Oh. Yeah sorry." I said.
"Goodnight." She said and closed the door.
"So, is it more fun to hang out with people your own age like me? Or old men like your college Professor?" He asked.
"He isn't old." I said.
"He's older."
"So? Stop it."
"Stop what?"
"I'm not sleeping with you, okay!" I said.
"Geeze, just kidding around." He said.
"Yeah, I don't believe that!" I told him.
"Well you should." He said.
"Well, I don't. I told him. He reached over and started tickling me.
"STOP IT!" I said, trying really hard not to laugh loud or scream.
I pushed him away and stood up laughing.
"If I wanted you bad enough, I would have said something to you." He said being serious. I sat down on the bed. I felt kind of bad that he said that.
"I didn't mean it to hurt your feelings." He said.
"Did you ever have a crush on me or anything?" I asked.
"I did at first, but then all of a sudden you were kind of stand-offish." He said.
"I'm sorry." I said.
He laughed, "It's not a big deal."
I layed back on the bed and sighed.
"Do you guys have fun together?" He asked.
"What's with all the questions about Alex?" I asked.
"Just curious." He said.
"Yes, we have fun." I told him.
"A lot of fun?"
"TODD!"
"Sorrrrrry!" He said. I just shook my head, and he got up and sat down next to me on the bed.
"Just don't get hurt." He said, getting serious all of a sudden.
"I'll try." I said.
"Good. You're a cool kid." He said.
"Kid?" I asked.
"Yes. A COOL kid." He said, giving me a thumbs up.
"You don't think I should be with Alex." I said.
"Well, I didn't say that." He said.
"But, you do think that." I said.
He shrugged his shoulders.
"It's okay if you think that." I said.
"I just think it's a little crazy." He said, "Especially for him. You were a student in his class. It's just weird. How did this even start?"
"He had me stay after class one day, so he could explain to me what was wrong with one of my essays." I explained, "So we were sitting there and he was explaining it to me and pointing out what I could do to make it better. At one point I was standing up leaning over his shoulder and he looked up at me while he was talking and we ended up kissing."
"Did you kiss him?" He asked.
"Well, he looked up and I was right there. We were staring into eachother eyes and he shifted his chair a little and we started kissing." I said.
"Okay, I don't need any more details." He said.
"Todd, I didn't sleep with him that day." I said.
"I still think it's weird." He said.
"It seemed all great untill we started seeing each other outside of school. Now it feels a little strange." I confessed.
"Does he feel the same way?" Todd asked.
"Yeah, I guess. I don't know. I just don't want it to end. I thought it was more then a fling. It lasted the whole time I was in his class." I said.
"Wait, how long?" He asked.
"Since the begining of the semester."
"Wow!" Todd said.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing. It just seems like a long time."
"I guess it is. I don't know. We really like each other, but I don't want him to get fired. For the first time we both seem to be having slight age issues." I confessed. Todd layed down next to me, and his head up on his hand so he was looking down at me.
"What are you going to do?" He asked.
I sighed, "I don't know."
"Does he make you happy?" He asked.
"I keep thinking about it and the more I think about it, the more I realize that before it was all about sex." I said.
"And now you're trying to make a relationship out of it?" He asked.
"Yeah, I guess." I said.
"Do you think he just wants it to be non exlusive or whatever?" He asked.
"I don't know." I said.
"Hmm." He said.
I sat up. "He makes me feel special though. When I am with him, I feel like I am the luckiest girl in the world." I smiled.
"He's not the only guy who can make you feel that way you know?" He said.
"Yeah right. Every other guy I've ever been with has been a total jerk." I said.
"That doesn't make us all jerks." He said.
"Oh, your different are you?" I asked.
"Yes, and I'm hurt you would think otherwise!" He said, playfully.
"Sorry. It's just hard. Sometimes it's easier to sell yourslef short and prepare to be hurt so you don't fall for someone and get hurt not expecting it." I said.
"Stop. That is not the way to live life." Todd said.
"Is isn't Mr. Persuasive Slacker?" I asked.
"I think you are just with him, because you are comfortable with him and you fear being alone or something." He said.
"That's not it." I said.
"Then maybe the sex is amazing or something." He said, "I don't know. I just don't think you are staying with him for the right reasons."
I giggled, "The sex is good, but it's far from amazing."
"So Professor Learman's sex is just good. . ." He said.
I laughed and hit him in the shoulder playfully. "Shut up."
"Was Andy better than the Professor?" He asked.
"Todd, stop!" I said laughing.
"Well, you've only been with Andy and the Professor." He said.
"I also slept with Goose at your birthday party. Remember?" I said.
He started laughing really hard. "I was so proud of Goose. How could I forget?" He said.
"You are such a dork." I said, "What the hell was his real name anyway?" I asked.
"Sigmand." He said laughing even harder.
"Sigmand?" I asked, "That's awful."
He nodded, still laughing.
"Oh geeze. I was so drunk, or that never would have happened!" I said.
"Well, I think you should let me show you what amazing sex is like."
"That so?" I asked.
"Yes. I'm working on my persuasion skills." He said. "How am I doing?" He asked, sliding his hand up my leg. I started laughing.
"What?" He asked.
"Goose, what a retarded name!" I said.
"Hey, I'm pulling my best moves here!" He said.
"Goose! Ha!" I said laughing really hard.
He put his arm around me. "Enough about Sigmand Goose." He said.
I started laughing even harder. I layed back on the bed again. "So, do you have any Italian in you?" He asked.
"No. Retard. You know I am German and Irish." I said.
"Oh, well would you like some Italian in you?" He asked.
I started laughing so hard.
"You did not just say that!" I shouted.
"Oh, I said it." He said, looking serious.
"Well, it is a horrible line." I told him.
"Oh. Well how about this?" He asked, then leaned down and started kissing me.
I let him kiss me for a few minutes and he stopped. He just sat there staring at me smiling. "Well?" He asked.
"You're aggresive." I said.
He laughed, "I like it rough, baby!" He said.
I laughed, "You are a dork."
"Is my manly charm working it's magic?" He asked.
I sat up. "Well, I guess the kiss was okay. I give it a 6." I said.
"Out of 10?" He asked, "I am better than that!"
"You might just have to prove that to me." I said laughing.
He looked at me with a serious face. "Is that an invite for me to kiss you again?"
I laughed, "Yeah."
"What about the Professor?" He asked.
"I am just trying to rate you correctly. I can't base it on one kiss." I said smiling.
"You are a bad bad girl." He said.
I started laughing.
"It's not that funny." He said.
"Sigmand Goose!" I said laughing.
"Okay, saying his name is not going to help me." He said.
"Sorry. I'll stop." I said giggling. Todd put his hand behind my neck, and started kissing me again. Rather roughly too. It gave me the goosebumps.
"Now?" He asked, pulling away.
"Wow." I said.
"Good?" He asked.
"You may have moved up a point or two." I told him, and smiled.
"Not the first time I got a Wow." He said smiling.
I rolled my eyes. "You seem to think very highly of yourself." I said giggling.
He laughed, "It might appear that way, but I don't think highly of myself."
"Aw." I said.
"Don't aw me." He said.
"How many girls have you slept with?" I asked.
"Why is that important?" He asked.
"Embarassed or ashamed?" I asked.
"Dayna, Christy and Samantha." He answered, "So three."
"When was the last time?" I asked.
"Dayna. That was six months ago." He said.
"Aw poor Toddy." I said.
"Shut up." He said.
"I know. Six months and four days." He said.
I started laughing. "Keeping count?" I asked.
My phone started ringing. I grabbed it from the floor and answered it.
"Hey, it's Alex."
"Hey you." I said excited.
"Did I wake you?" He asked.
"Nope."
"Good. I just wanted to hear your voice." He said.
"Aww." I said.
"Aww." Todd said mocking me.
I kicked him and he almost fell off the bed.
"Is someone there?" He asked.
"Yeah. Me and my friend Todd are watching TV." I said.
"Oh." He said sounding disspointed.
"What?"
"I was hoping I could come by or something." He said.
"I can come over tomorrow if you want me to." I said.
"I'm busy tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow night though. I'll give you a call." He said.
"Okay, then hopefully I will see you tomorrow." I said.
"Bye, babe. Sweet dreams." He said.
"Night." I said and hung up.
Todd looked at me.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing." He said.
"What?"
"Are you seeing the professor still?" He asked.
"Stop calling him that. And I don't know." I said.
"Oh. Well, I can leave if you want to think about it." He said, sitting up.
"You don't have to leave!" I said.
Todd layed back down next to me.
"What did he say?" He asked.
"He wanted to hear my voice." I said.
"Oh, god." He said.
I turned over onto my side facing him. "Shut up." I said.
"Make me." He said.
"You do like it rough." I said. He started blushing.
"Wow, I was kidding, but aparently you do!" I said.
"Shut up!" He told him.
"Make me." I said, copying him.
He laughed and sat up. "So, what now? Do you want to actually watch TV?" He asked.
I sat up. "Sure."
"Hey, you didn't rate my kissing." I said.
"100." He said smiling.
"The scale doesn't go to 100." I told him.
"Well then you broke it." He said. I laughed.
"Whatever!" I said.
"Fine, don't believe me." He said.
"The Professor is a lucky man." He said.
"Okay, please stop calling him that. It makes me think of Gilligans Island." I said laughing.
"You change the subject every time I give you a compliment." He said.
"I do not." I said.
"You have amazing blue eyes." He said.
"Stop. What do you want to watch." I asked, looking away.
"See, I told you." He said.
"I'm sorry, I guess I just get nervous." I told him.
"You shouldn't be. You really are a good kisser." He said, and smiled.
"Thanks." I said smiling. I giggled. "Is that what you want me to say?"
He just stared at me. "What?" I asked.
"Nothing." He said smiling.
"Let's not make things awkward between us." I said.
He laughed, "Things aren't going to be awkward between us."
"Good." I said smiling.
He scooted close to me. "Can I kiss you again?" He asked.
"Uh, no. Probably not." I told him.
"Enjoyed it too much?" He asked. I started laughing.
"A little. Oh look! The Chilli Peppers are on SNL!" I shouted, pointing at the TV.
"Subject changer." Todd mumbled.
I just laughed and layed down on my stomach to watch TV. He layed down next to me. "Okay, I'll leave you alone about it." He said, "But I can't promise that I won't leave you alone if you become single."
I smiled and continued watching TV.
When the show was over Todd sat up.
"Okay, I'm falling asleep. I better head home." He said.
"Okay." I said, yawning, and rolling over on my back. I stood up to walk him to the door.
"Thanks for hanging out." I told him, giving him a hug.
"Thanks for making out." He said, smacking my butt. I started lauging.
"I'll see you later!" I told him.
"Bye." He said. I walked him out to the front door and he left. I went back to my room and turned off the TV. I climbed into bed and my phone rang. It was Alex. I giggled and picked it up. "Hey you!" I said excited.
"It's Cailin." I heard.
"What?"
"Yeah, I stayed with him tonight. Stop calling him and don't come over ever again." She said quietly.
I hung up the phone. I waited a couple minutes and called back so he would hear the phone ring. He answered. "Hello?" He mumbled.
I started crying. "Ally?" He asked.
"Cailin just called me from your phone." I said.
"What? She's sleeping." He said.
"Well, then she is faking it." I said, "Wait a second. She is in your bed next to you?"
"Ally, nothing happen. I swear to you, nothing happen. Please don't get upset." He said.
"Why is she in your bed with you?" I asked loudly.
"We were just watching a movie and fell asleep. Ally, you have to beleive me." He said sounding worried.
"She told me to stop calling you and to never come by again." I sobbed.
"Cailin!" He shouted. "What the hell is your problem?!"
I heard them arguing, but I couldn't understand what she was saying.
"Ally, I'll call you tomorrow, okay?" Alex said.
"Okay." I told him, and hung up the phone. I pulled the blankets over my head and started crying. I was wondering if it all was just some big dumb stupid mistake.
I couldn't sleep. I wanted to call Todd or Tristin, because I wanted company. I figured they were both sleeping though. I went to the kitchen and made myself some hot chocolate. I sat down in the windowsil in the kitchen and leaned up against the window while I drank it. I got a text from Todd that said goodnight, so I called him quickly since I knew he was awake.
When he answered I started crying.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Alex." I said, and explained what just happend with Cailin.
"Are you okay?" He asked me.
"NO! This was all a mistake!" I told him.
"Want me to come back over?" He asked.
"You don't have to do that. It's late." I told him.
"I don't mind. You sound really upset." He said.
"I'm sorry. I should have called Tristin. I figured you were both asleep, but then you sent me that text." I sobbed.
"I'll come over if you want me to." He said.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"Yup." He said.
"Okay."
"Do you want me to?" He asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"Be right there." He said.
I hung up, and wiped me eyes. When I finished my hot chocolate there was a light knock on the front door.
"That was fast." I whispered, opening it.
"I got worried. You sounded so sad." Todd said. I shrugged my shoulders. He gave me a hug then we walked back to my room where we could talk a little louder with out waking anyone up.
We sat down on my bed and he hugged me again. When he let go of me, I layed down and put the covers over me. He layed down next to me, over the covers and put his arm around me. I was able to fall asleep soon after.
"I'm okay." I said getting up and locking my door.
I heard Christopher yelling at my parents. "Should I go?" He asked.
"I'm actually thinking that would be a good idea." I said.
He laughed, "I'm outta here. Good luck with Alex." He said rushing out the door. I got up and watched him run down the hall and out the front door. I started laughing. My Dad came around the corner. "Your boyfriend stayed over with you?" He asked.
"No, Daddy. My friend Todd did." I said.
"As long as you are living under my roof, you will not have boys in your bed with you!" He shouted.
"I'm not twelve!" I yelled slamming the door.
He opened it.
"You are still under my roof!" He yelled.
"He isn't my boyfriend, we did nothing!" I shouted.
"What is going on!" I heard my mom shout.
"This is rediculous!" I said.
"She had a boy over all night!" My dad shouted.
"Honey!" My mom said.
"It was Todd! Nothing happend, he's my friend!" I said.
"Mom, I even told you he would be here." I said.
"You approved of this?" Dad asked her.
"No. I didn't think he was spending the night." She said.
"Neither did I." I said. "He left and I got upset and called him to come back, because I didn't want to be alone."
Dad walked away mad.
"Momma." I said.
"He likes you to come to us when you need someone." Mom said as she walked back into her bedroom.
"So I can get yelled at." I muttered. Christopher poked his head in my door.
"GO AWAY!" I shouted, and he walked off. I was so pissed off. I just got up and took a shower. After I got dressed and everything I just got in my car and drove over to Tristins, hoping she would be awake and wouldn't mind me just stopping by. I called her when I got closer to her parents house.
She was out to breakfast with her family. "I'll call you when I get back home." She said.
"Okay." I said and hung up.
I drove to Alex's apartments and called him. He answered mumbling something.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Ally, hi." He said clearing his throat.
"I'm near your apartments. Is it okay if I come over?" I asked.
"Yeah, of course." He said.
"Is Cailin there?" I asked.
"I don't know. I made her sleep on the couch. She might have left by now, but I'm not sure. I havn't gotten up yet. I hope she's gone though." He said, "I'll meet you at the door."
"Okay, be there in a minute." I said.
"Okay." He said.
I walked up to his door and knocked. He opened it quickly and I walked in. "Shh." He said pointing to the couch. Cailin was asleep still. We walked quietly to his bedroom. "Ally, I was tossing and turning all night thinking about you." He said as he shut the door and locked it. I put my arms around his neck and he smiled. He put his arms around me. "Ally, I like you so much that it scares me." He said. He pulled me close to him and I could feel his heart beating. It was beating fast.
"Really?" I asked smiling.
He nodded.
"I was the same way." I told him.
"I feel like I shouldn't be. I know you are so much younger, but you don't seem like it. I really like being around you." He said.
"Thank you. What are we going to do? I don't want you to lose your job or anything." I told him. He sat down on the bed, and motioned for me to sit down next to him.
"We'll keep things on the down low while you are still in school. You aren't in my class anymore, but you are still a student at the school. Maybe I could transfer to the other college or something." He said.
"But it's 3 hours away!" I said.
"I don't know. It was just a thought." He said. I smiled at him and he gave me a huge hug.
"When you think about us, what do you think?" He asked.
I shrugged my shoulders.
He laughed, "You don't think very highly of us, do you?"
"To be honest, no." I said.
"Me too. One minute, I'm thinking it's impossible. Then, the next minute I'm thinking I really want it to work." He said.
"I always wonder if it's mostly just sexual though." I said.
He nodded, "Yeah, me too."
"Do you think it is?" I asked.
"I don't know." He said.
"Have you ever been in love?" I asked him.
"Yeah." He said.
"I havn't. I don't even know what it feels like." I said laughing.
"You'll fall in love some time." He said.
I smiled, "I hope so."
"So, what do you think we should do?" He asked.
"I don't know."
"I know that I don't want things to move fast." He said.
I nodded.
"If you're looking for a real relationship, then I think you should move on from me." He said.
"Do you think you could ever love me?" I asked.
He shrugged his shoulders. "Couldn't really tell ya." He said.
"Should we just end this now?" I asked him.
"I don't want to. But part of me thinks we should." He said.
"Me too. Why is this so hard?" I asked him.
"I don't know. I guess life is just complicated sometimes." He said.
"Yeah. I guess so." I sighed. He put his arm around me, and I smiled at him.
"You have such a pretty smile." He said.
"The things I am thinking right now are horrible." I said laughing.
"What?" He asked.
I got up and stood in front of him. "One last time?" I asked smiling.
"Definatly." He said.
He layed down and pulled me on top of him. It felt so good to be with him. I didn't want to think of it as being the last time. He started pulling my shirt off when there was a knock at the door.
"Damn it. Hold on, okay?" He said, kissing me.
"I'll be here." I said.
He got up and answered the door.
"Do you want to go grab breakfast?" Cailin asked.
"I'm going through some important paperwork. I'm really trying to focus. It should have been done two days ago. Raincheck?" He asked.
"I'm holdin you to that." She said.
"See you." He said.
"Bye." She said.
He closed the door and locked it. He stood by the door until he heard her leave.
"Quite the liar." I said.
He laughed, "Well, I only partially lied. I do have to work on that stuff, but not until I am done with you." He said.
"Oh. I see. Well, get over here." I told him, laying back on the bed. He smiled, and praticaly ran to the bed.
"So this is it, huh?" I asked him.
"I guess so. I'll make it count." He whispered, and kissed my neck.
We had the most amazing sex we'd ever had. It made me not want to stop seeing him. We were both sweating and out of breath. I looked at him and we both started laughing. "Wow, I need a shower now." He said.
"Me too." I said.
"I'm going to go take one real quick." He said.
"Can I join you?" I asked.
"Um."
I laughed.
"I'm sorry, I just have a weird thing about that." He said blushing.
"Okay, weirdo." I said laughing. I layed back down on his bed.
He laughed, "There's the kid in you." He said.
"What?"
"I think you try too hard to act mature around me. I am a fun guy you know?" He said laughing.
"Shut up." I said.
He laughed again and put a towel around his waist. "I'll be right back."
"Okay." I said, and pulled the sheets over me. I started falling asleep when he came back out. I stood up and got dressed. I waited for him to get dressed before I said goodbye.
"Hey, call me if you ever want to-you know." He said, giving me a hug.
"Same here." I told him.
"One more kiss?" I asked.
He put his arms around me and gave me a kiss. He smiled. "Well, this was an interesting school year." He said.
"Yes it was. A lot different than I had expected." I said.
"Good luck next year. I know it'll be a peice of cake for you." He said, "You're a smart girl."
"Stop sounding like a teacher." I said.
He laughed, "I can't. I am one."
"See you later." I said.
He waved and I left.
When I got to the car I wanted to cry, but I didn't let myself. I knew it was for the best. I also knew I'd probably make a phone call or two in the future to see him. I didn't really want to drive home, but I did anyway. I was hoping maybe I had givin my parents enough time to cool off. I wanted to let them know things were over with Alex too.
Nobody was home. I just went to my bedroom, shut the door and layed down on my bed. All of a sudden I started thinking of Goose. It made me laugh. Goose was a total stoner with crazy curly hair. We were both really drunk at that party when we had sex. He still goes to the same school as us, but I didn't run into him much. The one time I saw him in the book store, I ran the other way. I decided to call Todd. He was always good at chearing me up. When I picked up my phone to call him, Tristin was calling me.
"Hey Lady!" I said, answering the phone.
"Hey! Whats up?" She asked. I told her about Alex.
"Awww! You poor thing!" She said.
"It's okay. It's for the best, I'm sure. How was breakfast?" I asked her.
"Weird. My older brother has met some girl who is completely nuts! She's got to be like 15 years older than him, and she is totally of her rocker!" She said.
"Oh no! Your brother is the wierdest person!" I told her.
"Yeah, tell me about it. Anyway she came with us and it was so weird!" She told me all about it, and I couldn't help but laugh.
"I kissed Todd." I blurted out.
She started laughing. "Are you serious?" She asked.
"It's not that funny." I said.
"It's just funny that you finally did it after being friends for a whole year." She said.
"It was nice." I said.
"Well, I think he's got to be the sweetest guy I've ever met. Even though I don't know him that well." She said, "And he makes me laugh so freakin hard."
"He is pretty funny." I said.
"And cute. Like, he's not super hot or anything, but he's cute in that dorky funny sence of humor sorda way." She said.
I laughed, "Don't describe him that way. It makes me think of Goose." I said.
"Who the fuck is Goose?" She asked laughing.
"Some guy I hooked up with at one of Todd's parties." I said laughing.
"And his name is Goose?" She asked laughing.
"No, but his first name isn't any better. His name is Sigmand." I said.
She started laughing really hard. "You slept with a guy named Sigmand Goose?"
"Yeah. He was Cute though, and so funny. Kind of a stoner. We were both pretty drunk." I told her. She was still laughing.
"Stop! It's not that funny!" I told her.
"Yes it is! Geeze!" She said.
"Anyway, how is day number two with no Ryan?" I asked her.
"Shitty. I've talked to him on the phone like ten times already." She said, and I laughed.
"Shut up, I miss him." She said.
"I know you do." I said.
"Next weekend he's coming over to meet my parents." She said.
"Oh, cool. How exciting." I said.
"I know. Isn't it? He's excited too." She said, sounding super happy.
"You're lucky." I said.
She just giggled.
"Seriously, you and Ryan are so happy. It's awesome. I'm jelous." I said.
"Hang up and call Todd." She said.
"Tris!" I said laughing.
"What?"
"Actually, I was about to call him right before you called me." I said.
"Were you now?" She asked giggling.
"He's just a friend." I said.
"But you kissed him."
"Twice." I said. "He gave me the chills too."
"Would you call him over already?" She asked, "The chills. . . good sign my dear."
I laughed.
"Fine, I'll call. I'm not sure if he should come back over here though. My dad was pissed when he found out he fell asleep over here." I told her.
"What! He slept over? Call Him!!" She shouted.
"Okay, okay! I'll call!" I said.
"Good, talk to you later." She said, and we hung up. I could stop smiling. I dialed Todd, and he picked up this time.
"Hey Ally! Whats going on?" He asked.
"Do you want to hang out today?" I asked.
"Of course! Uh...Would you mind if you came over here? I'm afraid of your dad." He said, making me laugh.
"Yeah sure. I'm on my way." I told him.
"I'll be waiting." He said, and hung up the phone.
I got in my car and went to Todd's. He answered the door right away and we went to his bedroom. I told him about everything that happen with Alex.
"Wow." He said.
"Well, it's not totally the end for us." I said laughing.
He smiled, "I figured. . ."
"Shut up." I said laughing.
"So, anything new with you the last couple hours?" I asked him.
"Ahhh, no. Still boring old Todd." He sighed.
"Oh, please! You are NOT boring." I told him.
"Whatever. So, your single now?" he asked.
"Yes, yes I am. Is that okay?"
"That is just the way I like you." He said.
"And why might that be?" I asked him.
"Because, I have a better chance." He said, smiling.
"You're a nerd." I said laying down on his bed.
"I know." He said laughing. He turned on the TV and layed down next to me.
He yawned and put his arm around me.
"You dork!" I said, laughing.
"What?" He asked.
"You could have just put your arm around me. You didn't have to pull the cheesy yawn move." I told him.
"But that is not nearly as funny." He said.
"You are a nerd." I said again.
"I know. I'm glad we are on the same page." He said, pinching my side, and tickling me.
I jumped up. "Stop!" I said laughing.
"What? You don't like to be tickled?" He asked.
"I hate it!" I said.
"Damn. I was enjoying it." He said.
"Whatever." I said.
"We should go to a movie or something instead of sitting around here." He said.
"Fine, what do you want to see?" I asked him.
"I don't know. Lets just drive over and see whats playing. Maybe we can walk around the mall or get something to eat or something." He suggested.
"Sounds good to me! Who's driving?" I asked.
"I'll drive." He said, sitting up.
"Deal." I said, and started to stand up, but the bottom of my jeans got caught on my heal, and I back over onto the bed, right into Todd's lap. We both started laughing so hard.
"Walk much?" He asked.
"Shut Up!" I shouted.
My phone started ringing.
"Your phone is always ringing. What the fuck." He said.
I laughed and picked up my phone. I didn't recognize the number. "Hello?" I asked.
"Hey. It's Alex. I'm sorry to bother you, but I just got in a car accident. My car is probably totaled." He said.
"Oh my god, are you okay?" I asked worried and almost in tears.
"Yes. I am fine. Some drunk idiot ran a red light and hit me on the passnger side of my car." He said. "My car is being towed to my house though and I can't get ahold of Cailin or my parents or Chris or anyone."
"Do you need me to pick you up?" I asked.
"If you could. . ." He said.
"Of course." I said, "Todd and I were just about to head to a movie, but we'll come get you and take you home first."
"Todd?" He asked.
"Yeah. . ." I said.
"Let me try Chris again." He said.
"Alex, I'm coming to get you. Just tell me where you are." I said.
He didn't say anything. "Alex?"
"Raintree and Hubert." He said softly.
"I'll be right there." I said and hung up.
"Come on. Alex was in a car accident and I need to pick him up and take him home." I said grabbing my purse.
Todd gave me a strange look. "And you want me to go with you?" He asked.
"Yeah. We can go to the movie after." I said.
"Um, okay." He said looking confused. We got in my car and drove to Raintree and Hubert. We pulled up and there were a few cop cars and an ambulence. One of the cops walked up to us. "We're here to pick up Alex Learman." I told him.
"Just a minute." He said, "Stay here."
"This is weird." Todd said.
I watched the cop walk up to a guy sitting on the curb. I figured it was Alex, but it was dark so I couldn't tell. He shook the cops hand and started walking towards us. I got out of the car and stood next to it. "Thank you." Alex said walking up to me. I gave him a hug. He had a cut above his right eye and there was some blood stains on his shirt. "Are you sure you are okay?" I asked.
He nodded. Todd got out of the car and got in the back seat. Alex and I got in the car. Alex just leaned his head back looking out the window. We were all quiet as I pulled away. "Alex, this is my friend Todd." I said.
"Hi." Todd said.
"Hey." Alex said puting his hand on his head.
"Are you sure you are okay?" I asked again.
I noticed his eyes starting to tear up. "Alex, do you need to go to the hospital or something?" I asked.
He shook his head. "I'm fine."
I rubbed his leg and he put his hand on mine and squeezed it. We stopped at a red light and I looked back at Todd. He was staring at our hands. I giggled. "Well this is quite awkward." I said.
"Why?" Todd asked.
Then it occured to me that Todd was a student at the school and that was probably why Alex hesitated when I said I had Todd with me. "Todd is a good friend of mine." I said, "He's good at keeping secrets."
"I'm not worried about it." Alex said.
I smiled and squeezed his hand. "Good." I said smiling.
I pulled up to Alex's place, and let him out.
"Need me to walk you in?" I asked.
"No, I'm fine." He said. "Thanks again for the ride. Bye Todd." He said.
"Bye Mr. Lear- uh. Alex." Todd said. Alex looked embarassed and walked right inside. Todd climbed out of the back seat and into the front seat.
"Well, that was a little wierd." Todd said.
"Why?" I asked.
"Okay, Ally, You know I'm interested in you, right?" He asked.
"Let me go make sure he's okay." I said, "Sorry I will be right back."
I got out of the car and started crying as I walked up to his door. I knocked and he opened the door.
"Ally, what's wrong?" He asked.
"I'm worried about you and I feel bad leaving you." I said.
He gave me a hug. "I'm fine, sweetie." He said squeezing me tighter.
"Are you sure?" I asked pulling away and looking up at him.
He nodded. "Yeah, I just have a bad headache. I'm going to take a shower and go to bed."
"Okay." I said.
"You should probably get back to Todd." He said.
"I'm going to come over after the movie." I said.
"Ally, no. You don't have to do this." He said.
"I want to." I said taking his hand.
"Ally. . ." He said softly rubbing my cheek with his thumb. "Don't worry about me. I'm sorry I called you, but I didn't have anyone else to call. I hope I havn't upset you or made you think I need someone."
I started crying again. "Okay. Be stubborn then." I said walking away.
"Ally. Please don't leave upset." He said.
I walked out of the apartment and back to my car.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said anything." Todd said.
"It's okay." I told him wiping my eyes.
"No. We don't have to go to a movie. You can just take me home if you want. You look upset." He said.
"I'm a little confused right now, to be honest." I told him.
"I'm sorry." He said again.
"It's okay. I'm fine." I said, smiling. I drove to the movie theater and we picked out a movie. We didn't say much most of the time. Things were slightly awkward. When the movie was over I drove Todd back home.
"I guess I'll see you later." He said getting out of the car.
"I'm really sorry." I told him.
He nodded, "Goodnight."
"Goodnight. I'll call you tomorrow." I said.
He nodded and closed the door. I pulled away and started crying again. I called Alex. I started talking as soon as he picked up.
"Can I come over?" I asked trying to make it sound like I wasn't crying.
"Ally?" He mumbled clearing his throat.
"Yeah."
"Ally, my head hurts really bad. I'm trying to go to sleep." He said.
"I can bring you some asprin or something." I said.
"That's very sweet of you to offer, but I think I just need some rest." He said.
"Why won't you let me help you?" I asked crying.
"Ally, we broke up." He said.
"So. That doesn't mean I don't care about you." I said.
He laughed nervously. "You're not helping me get over you." He said.
"Alex-"
"Ally, go home. Go to a friends house, okay? You are a sweetheart, but I'm fine. Really." he said. I just hung up the phone. I drove home, and took a long hot bath before I went to bed.
The next morning I woke up to my phone ringing.
"Hello?" I answered. "Hello?" There was no one there. I looked at the call log and the number was Alex's, so I called him back.
"Hello?"
"Hey." I said.
"Hey, good morning." He said.
"Did you need something?" I asked.
"I'm really sorry about last night." He said, "I didn't mean to upset you."
I layed down and rolled over on my side. "It's okay." I said.
"Chris is out of town for a few days. He went with some friends to San Diego." He said.
"Oh, that sounds like fun. . ." I said.
"You can come by if you want." He said.
"I don't know if I should. . ." I said.
"Are you dating Todd?" He asked.
"No, he is just a friend." I said.
"He didn't look happy last night. I felt bad. I hope I didn't ruin your night." He said.
"That wasn't something you had planned on. I was glad to help." I said.
"You gonna come by?" He asked.
"Is this a booty call?" I asked giggling.
He laughed, "Kinda."
I laughed.
"If there is something going on with you and Todd though, I don't want to get in the way of it." He said.
"So, you want some of the Ally meds?" I asked.
"Yes, I think it would be very helpful. It might even fix me." He said.
I giggled, "Well, this nurse will be right over to fulfill your needs, Mr. Learman." I said in a sexy voice.
"Come over, now." He said.
"Let me take a shower, and I'll be right there." I told him.
"HURRY!" He said, and we hung up. I started laughing, and jumped in the shower right away.
I rushed in the shower and got dressed. I put my hair up in a bun and put some powder on, then left quickly before my parents saw me. I didn't want to have to tell them where I was going. I drove to his apartment and as I was walking up to the door, Cailin walked up from the other side of the building. She had a bag in her hand. She started pounding no the door. "Did you fucking forget what I told you?" She asked rudly. I just ignored her. Alex opened the door. "A good nurse would have worn her sexy nurse outfit." He said laughing, then he noticed Cailin was standing there. She glared at him. "You said you weren't seeing her anymore." She said rudly.
He sighed, "Cailin, what are you doing here?" He asked.
"I brought you some Aleve and a movie." She said. She looked at me. "And what did you bring him?"
"I brought sex." I said.
Alex laughed. "Ally." He said.
She looked speechless. "Excuse me." I said walking into the apartment.
"The wrong person is going to find out about this if you don't be careful. Then, you are going to lose your job and everything you love most." She said.
"The wrong person isn't going to find out." He said.
"This is wrong and you know it." She said.
"Cailin, she's an adult. I'm an adult. She is no longer my student." He said.
"It's still wrong in so many ways and you know it. You admited it earlier, I don't see what has changed your mind all of a sudden." She said.
"We're not dating." He said.
"Are you going to have sex with her?" She asked.
"Stop acting so jelous all the time." He told her.
"I'll be waiting right here." She said sitting down on the couch.
"Cailin, please leave." He said.
"Alex! I'm not-"
"Cailin. I've asked you nicely. Leave." He said.
"No! You are being rediculous!" She shouted.
"Cailin, leave now. I didn't ask you to come over here. Go please." He said. She glared at me, then stormed out of the apartment.
"You shouldn't say stuff like that." He said to me.
"About what?" I asked.
"You brought sex? It makes you sound cheap." He said.
"I was joking around." I told him.
"Just to make her mad." He said. I shrugged.
"Well, it was still kind of funny. She really pisses me off sometimes." He said.
"Why do you put up with it?" I asked.
"I've known her forever. Our families have always been friends. I think our parents still have some fantasy that we'll end up married." He said.
"I think she shares the same fantasy." I told him.
"Oh, please." He said.
"Wake up Alex. She's jealous. She wants to be in my shoes." I told him.
"Don't be silly." He said.
"Believe what you want. Chris seems to think the same thing." I told him.
"Enough talk about Cailin. I believe there was another reason you came over?" He said.
"Was there?" I asked.
"Are you mad?" He asked.
"Just bothered." I said.
He sighed.
"Do you think I'm a slut or something?" I asked.
"No." He said, "Ally, people have relationships like this all the time."
"I was just making sure that you didn't see me that way." I said.
"Of course I don't see you that way. You're a good person, Ally." He said.
I smiled, "Thanks."
"Don't ever forget that." He said.
"I'll try." I told him. "How are you feeling?" I asked.
"My headache was better untill Cailin showed up. Few cuts and scratches, but I made it out a hell of a lot better then my car did. Now I just have to deal with the insurance agency mess." He said.
"Sounds fun." I told him.
"Oh, loads. You have no idea." He said. I just laughed.
"Well, I'm glad you are feeling better."
"Thanks."
He went to his room and sat down on his bed. He layed back with his hand on his head.
"Do you want a glass of water or anything?" I asked.
"No, thanks." He said.
"Okay." I said.
"Come over here." He said.
I couldn't help but smile. He looked so cute.
"What?" He asked.
"Nothing." I told him, climbing onto the bed next to him. He put his arm around me, and I rested my head on his shoulder.
"Why is this so wrong?" He asked me.
"I don't know. Because everyone says it is?" I suggested.
"Is that it? Everyone's opinion is that it's wrong, so therefore it is?" He asked.
"I guess. I don't think it is." I told him.
"Neither do I." He said. I looked up at him, and he smiled at me.
I sighed.
He pulled me close to him and I looked up at him. He smiled and started kissing me. "I know it hasn't been very long yet, but I did miss this." I said.
He just laughed.
"Shush." I said.
"Tell me about you and Todd." He said.
"Excuse me?" I asked.
"Just curious." He told me.
"He's my friend. We met at the start of the school year. Kind of liked each other at first, but just became friends." I told him.
"Thats it?" He asked.
"Yes, thats it! This seems like an odd time to be asking about Todd." I told him.
"Sorry." He said.
"It's just weird." I said.
"Sorry." He said again.
"Why do you keep asking me about him?" I asked.
"Just making sure there wasn't anything going on. I don't want to get in the way." He said.
"You're not getting in the way of anything. I swear." I said.
"Okay." He said looking unconvinced.
"Alex, if I was with Todd or trying to get with Todd, then I wouldn't be here right now." I said.
"I know." He said, "You want to go to the store and get some snacks?"
"Sure." I said smiling.
He gave me a hug. He got dressed and we went to the grocery store down the street. "I'm gonna go grab some beef jerky." He said turning down an isle.
"Okay." I said.
I walked over to the deli and got in line so I could get some meat for sandwiches. "Ally?" I heard. I turned around. "Goose?" I asked.
"Yeah. Hey, how's it goin?" He asked.
He looked exactly the same, except his pants had holes in them. He was wearing a pink floyd shirt and he had his right eyebrow peirced. His hair was still crazy and curly, just a little longer.
"I'm pretty good." I said looking around. I saw Alex walking up.
"Getting some lunch meat?" Alex asked.
Goose looked at him and then me. None of us said anything. "It was. . . good. . . seeing you." He said to me. He was staring at Alex and walking backwards. He walked into a lady's cart. "Excuse me!" The lady said rudly. He turned around and walked away.
"Who was that?" Alex asked, nervous.
"An old friend." I said.
"He looks familiar." Alex said.
"He dropped out of your class first quarter." I told him.
"Oh!" He said, looking worried.
"ALEX LEARMAN!" We heard a woman shout. It was Mrs. Murphy, one of the other phsycology teachers. I was enrolled in her class the next year. I pretended like I wasn't with Alex, and just walked up to the counter to order.
"Hello Margaret. How are you these days?" He asked.
"Summer just started, Alex. I'm doing great! How about you?" She asked.
"Uh, I'm good." He said, sounding nervous.
"Is everything all right Alex?" she asked.
"Uh. . ." He said looking at me. "Yeah, I was just in a car accident yesterday, I'm still pretty out of it."
"Oh. I am sorry to hear that." She said.
I looked over and saw Goose walking this way. "Mr. Goose." She said looking at him.
"Hi, Mrs. Murphy." Goose said.
I started laughing. "Do I know you too?" Mrs. Murphy asked. I looked at her. "I don't think so." I said.
"I thought I might have seen you at the school I teach at." She said.
"Probably." I said smiling.
"She goes to the same school." Goose said.
"I'm Mrs. Murphy and this is Professor Learman." She said.
I smiled trying not to laugh. I shook Alex's hand and then Mrs. Murphys. "Well, I gotta go." Goose said. "See you all around." He said.
"Well, I've got to finish my shopping and head to church." She said smiling. "See you all in the next school year." She walked away.
"You have to talk to this Goose guy." Alex said quietly.
I laughed, "I will."
"Maybe we shouldn't have gone out in public." He said.
"Yeah." I said starting to laugh.
"What kind of meat did you want?" He asked.
"Smoked Turkey." I said.
"I'll get it. Go wait in the car." He said.
I laughed and walked away.
I saw Goose in the parking lot.
"Goose! Wait!" I shouted.
"What is going on?" He asked, laughing.
"Long story. You can't tell anyone you saw Alex-professor Learman and I together. Okay?" I told him.
"Oh! I was right!" He shouted.
"Goose, please." I said.
"Not problem. You're cool, secret is safe with me." He said.
"Thanks." I told him.
"Anytime. See you around." He said, and hugged me, before he walked off. I got into my car and started laughing my head off.
A few minutes later, Alex walked up with the shopping cart. I started getting out of the car to help. "Stay in there." He said laughing. I laughed and sat back down. I closed the door and started laughing even harder. I popped the trunk and he loaded the food. He got in the car. "That was crazy." He said.
"I talked to Goose." I said laughing.
"Good. Man, I hope that never happens again." He said laguing. There was a knock on the passanger window, and we both jumped. I rolled it down and it was Mrs. Murphy. "Alex, you forgot your turkey at the check out!" She said, handind it to him. She saw me, and her smile dropped.
"You two know each other?" She asked.
"Uh, kind of." Alex said.
"He knows my father. I'm just giving Alex a ride while he waits for his rental." I lied.
"Oh I see. But in there..." She trailed off.
"We didn't want you to think anything weird was going on." Alex said.
"Oh, I see. Well, bye. I hope you feel better Alex." She said.
"Me too. Bye Margarit." Alex said. She waved and walked away. I don't think she quite believed us.
"Wow." I said.
"Yeah. Nice story. I couldn't think of what to say." Alex said, and then we both started laughing.
"Let's go before we run into anyone else." He said.
I pulled out of the spot and drove off.
"Now I'm freaking out." He said, "Now I am thinking it is probably good that we broke up."
"What?" I asked.
"Well, it is. Isn't it? I mean look how close that was." He said.
"Yeah. I it was." I sighed.
"Whats wrong?" He asked.
"Nothing." I said, smiling unconvicingly.
"Ally. Something is wrong." He said. I didn't say anything. I just drove him home, and helped get the groceries inside.
"You don't have to stay if you don't want to." He said.
"I'll help you put everything away." I said.
I helped him carry the groceries inside and put it all away. "I'll see you around I guess." I said.
"So, you're not going to fulfill my needs?" He asked smiling.
"No, Alex." I said.
He just nodded looking disapointed.
"Sorry." I said, "Like we said before, it's probably best we don't get involved whether we want to or not."
Again, he just nodded. "See ya." I said smiling and left.
I guess I was hoping things would work out, and not be just about sex. Aparently I was wrong though. I sighed, and drove home. My mom was in the kitchen stuffing some envelopes for her Volunteer work with the local Fire Dept. She along with some of the neighbors helped raise money for the Fire and Police Dept's every year. Grandpa used to be a Fireman, so we always liked to help out.
"Hey honey!" She said when she saw me.
"Hi mom. Need some help?" I asked.
"Yes, that would be wonderful." She said, and smiled. I sat down across from her at the table and started putting stamps on envelopes.
"How are things?" She asked smiling.
I sighed, "Oh they're okay."
"Todd?" She asked.
I shrugged my shoulders. "I'm sorry about that, Mom." I said.
"It's fine." She said.
"It really wasn't like that." I said.
"No need to explain, sweetie." She said, "That's your private life."
"Well, I didn't do anything with Todd." I told her. "I just want you to know that."
She just looked at me and smiled. "Mom!" Christopher shouted walking into the kitchen.
"What?" She asked, not looking up.
"I'm going to a movie with Aubrey." He said.
"Aubrey?" She asked, "The cheerleader?"
He rolled his eyes, "Yes."
"Well, have fun. If you are going out after the movie, call me." She said.
"Fine." He told her and walked off.
"Why do you let him talk to you like that?" I asked her.
"It's a phase. You went through the same one with your father if I recall." She said.
"Yeah, I guess." I told her. She just smiled at me.
"You are putting the stamps on upside down dear." She said. I looked down, and sure enough, the last 10 or so were upside down. I started laughing.
"I guess I am distracted!" I said.
She laughed, "What's on your mind?"
"Todd I guess." I said.
"What about him? If you don't mind me asking." She said.
"He told me he liked me and I kind of freaked out. I feel bad." I said.
"Do you like him?" She asked smiling.
I shrugged my shoulders. "I know I at least want to still be his friend."
She took the envelopes from me. "I'll finish these up. You can go ahead and rest." She said smiling.
I sighed, "Okay. Thanks." I went to my room and called Todd right away.
"Hey." He said.
"Hey. I'm sorry about last night. I guess I sort of freaked out for no reason." I said.
"It's okay." He said.
"No it isn't okay. I'm really sorry." I said again.
"Apology accepted." He said.
"I guess I just didn't know what to say back." I told him.
"You didn't have to say anything. I just had to tell you how I felt." He said.
"Well, I'm glad you did." I told him.
"You are?" He asked, sounding confused.
"Yes, I am. I prefer everything to be out in the open and honest." I said.
"Is Alex okay?" He asked.
"Yeah. He's feeling a lot better." I said.
"That's good." He said.
"You won't beleive who I ran into at the grocery store this morning." I said.
"Who?"
I started laughing. "Goose!"
"Really?" He asked laughing.
"Yes!"
"What did he say to you?" He asked.
"He acted all weird and nervous." I said.
"Ha! How funny!" He said.
"He walked into a ladies cart and she yelled at him!" I said.
He laughed, "Oh that Goose cracks me up."
I started laughing. "He needs to come up with a nickname that sounds better."
"Goose fits him." He said.
I laughed, "I guess!"
"Can I come over? I'll bring over Neverending Story or something." He said.
"Yes!"
"Wow." He said.
"What?"
He laughed, "Nothing. You just sound excited."
"I am! I am in a good mood!" I said giggling.
"I know that running into Goose totally made your day, but I am not Goose. I will never be Goose. I don't want to be your Goose stand in." He said.
I started laughing really hard. "Shut up and come over."
"Be there in a few." He said.
I couldn't stop giggling about goose.
"Ally! Todd is here!" I heard my mom yell. I got up to go get him, and I heard my dad yell, "Todd? I want to talk to him!"
"Oh shit." I said, running out. My dad was already there, shaking Todd's hand.
"You seem like a respectable young man." My dad said. Todd just nodded, still shaking my dad's hand. He looked nervous, then I realized my dad had a pretty good grip on his hand and wasn't letting go.
"My baby says you are just friends, but I know guys a little better then that. Do anything to hurt her, and you have me to answer too." He said. Todd gulped and nodded his head. "What was that?" My dad asked.
"Yes sir!" Todd shouted.
"Wow. Good yes sir. Strong hand shake too." My dad said.
"I was in ROTC in Highschool sir." Todd said.
"Well, you aren't anymore, no need to call me sir. You can go now. Stay here over night again though, and you have to answer to me." My dad said, finally letting go of Todd's hand.
"DAD!" I shouted.
"What? You are still my baby girl." He said, and left.
"Mom!" I said. She shrugged.
"He's your father." She said, and walked away.
"Oh my god. I'm sorry Todd." I said. He started laughing.
"Your dad scared the shit out of me!" he said.
"I'm sorry." I said laughing. We went to my room and I shut the door, locking it.
"Your Dad is scary." He said.
"Yeah, good thing he never met Alex. Shit." I said.
"Your Dad would have killed him." He said.
"I know." I said laughing.
"I brought a couple movies." He said setting down his backpack.
"Which ones?" I asked.
"Some silly ones we use to watch." He said.
"Yay!" I said excited. He sat on the floor and opened his backpack. I jumped on the bed and scooted to the edge of the bed so I could see.
"Ghostbusters, Neverending Story 2, Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure and The Ninja Turtles movie." He said.
"Whichever one you want." I said smiling. He put the movies down and turned his head facing me. His face was not even a foot away from mine. "How about Ghostbusters?" He asked. He was staring at me and he looked like he was in a daze.
"Ghostbusters is fine." I said.
He nodded, still staring at me. He scratched his head and turned away. "Okay, Ninja Turtles it is." He said jumped up.
I started laughing.
"What?" He asked confused.
"Nothing." I said. He turned the movie on and I grabbed a pillow. I propped it under my head. He sat down at the end of the bed and the movie started.
"Chris and I used to watch this movie all the time when we were kids!" I laughed.
"Really?" Todd asked.
"Yeah. You don't have to sit all the way at the end of the bed. You can lay down you know." I said.
"Sorry." Todd said.
"About what?" I asked.
"I don't know. I guess I'm still a little shakin up over your dad!" He said. I just laughed.
"Don't worry about him." I said.
"Yeah, says you. My hand still hurts." He said.
"Just come here. You are fine." I told him. He smiled, and sat behind me.
"So, which one did you want to be?" I asked.
"What?"
"Which Ninja Turtle did you want to be?" I asked again.
"I don't know." He said.
"Yes you do." I said.
He laughed, "Donatello."
"And why?" I asked.
"I don't know."
"Yes you do." I said laughing.
"He just looks the coolest." He said.
"I see." I said.
He scooted closer to me and layed down on his back. "They can all kick some major ass." He said.
I smiled at him.
"What?" He asked.
I shook my head and looked back at the TV.
"Are you thinking about Goose again? Cause I can call him and have him come over." He said.
I looked at him and laughed. "Shut up about Goose." I said.
He started staring at me again.
"Yes?" I asked.
"You're eyes are so pretty." He said.
"Thank you." I said looking away.
"They're like this really cool green." He said, "Look at me again."
"No." I said. I started to feel nervous.
"Yeah, look at me. Please." He said.
"No!" I said laughing.
"Do you hate compliments or something?" He asked.
"No. I just don't know how to respond." I said.
"Just look at me." He said. I turned and looked in his eyes.
"You have cool eyes too." I said. He smiled, and then kissed me.
"Was that too far?" He asked, stopping.
"Not far enough." I said, and kissed him back.
"No. I just don't know how to respond." I said.
"Just look at me." He said. I turned and looked in his eyes.
"You have cool eyes too." I said. He smiled, and then kissed me.

"Not far enough." I said, and kissed him back.
He wrapped his arms around me and held me close to him. I realized that I did have a lot more fun with someone my own age. I put my hand under his shirt and rubbed his back. "Me and Dad are going out for the night!" Mom shouted. Todd jumped up and stood near the end of the bed.
"Okay!" I yelled.
"Doesn't mean you can have sleepovers!" Dad shouted.
I rolled my eyes. "Okay, see you tomorrow!" I shouted back.
"Love you!" Mom yelled.
"Love you too!" I said.
"Your brother should be home in about an hour!" Mom shouted.
We heard the front door close.
I started laughing. "What was that?" I asked.
He laughed, "I was afraid someone was going to come in."
"I locked it, weirdo." I said.
"I know. Sorry. I guess I'm a little nervous too." He said.
"Come back here." I said, pausing the movie. He walked over and layed back down next to me.
"Why did you pause the movie?" He asked.
"We can watch it later." I said, raising my eyebrows.
"Oh, later. Okay." He said, winking. I started laughing.
"Anyone here?!" Christopher shouted.
"Shh." I said.
I heard him walking down the hall. "Ally?" He asked. I heard a girl giggling. I walked to the door and opened it. Christopher was standing there with a girl. She was tall and skinny with long blond hair. "Where is Mom and Dad?" He asked peaking into my room. "Hey." Todd said.
"Hi." Christopher said.
"They are gone for the night." I said.
"Is he staying over?" Christopher asked.
"Is she staying over?" I asked.
He looked at her. "I can." She said smiling.
He looked at me for approval. "I don't care what you do." I said.
"Promise you won't tell Mom and Dad if she stays over?" He asked.
"If you promise not to tell them if Todd stays over." I said.
"Deal." He said. He grabbed the girls hand and ran to his room shutting the door. She was giggling the whole time.
"I'm staying over?" Todd asked.
"Only if you want to." I told him.
"Oh, I want to." He said. I smiled and layed back in bed. "But, I'm still a little afraid of your dad."
"Don't be. He's a sweetheart really. Besides, I'm almost 22, I think I can have someone over." I told him.
"Well, in that case, I wouldn't dream of leaving you." Todd said.
"Good. Kiss me again, you are good at it." I told him.
He laughed. "Are you going to see Alex again?" He asked.
"I have no idea. We won't be trying to date again. I know that for sure." I said.
"I'm hungry." He said.
"Oh, uh. We can go make a frozen pizza or something." I said.
"That sounds good. Then we can finish the movie." He said.
"Uh, yeah. Okay." I said smiling.
He smiled and we went out to the kitchen. I turned on the oven and took a pizza out of the freezer. Christopher walked out to the kitchen. "Can I ask you something?" He asked Todd. Todd looked at me weird and I shrugged my shoulders.
"Yeah." He said.
"Outside." Christopher said.
"Okay. . ." Todd said. They went ouside. I was afraid Christopher was trying to embaras me or something. They walked back in a few seconds later. Christopher went running down the hall. "Your brother just asked me if I had any condoms." He whispered.
"What?!" I asked loudly.
Christopher walked by us. "I gotta run to the store real quick." He said as he opened the door. "Be right back." He said.
"Oh my god." I said.
"You don't have any?" I asked.
"Do I need some?" He asked me. I started laughing so hard.
"I can't believe my little brother just asked you for a condom!" I said. "And know you don't need one." I told him. I got kind of a dissapointed look on his face. "Because I'm covered in that department." I said.
"Oh." He said, smiling. I started laughing again. "What?"
"Boys!" I said.
He just laughed.
I put the pizza in the over and sat down at the table. A few minutes later, Christopher came running in the front door. He opened the liquor cabinet and started looking through it.
"Christopher!" I shouted.
"Who cares. Mom and Dad aren't home." He said.
"Are you giving her drinks so she has sex with you?" I asked.
He stood up. "What?" He asked.
"Stay away from the alcohol." I said.
"You suck." He said closing the cabinet.
"Be careful please." I said.
"I've been doing it for years. I think I know how to be careful." He said.
"Uh-huh? Years? Honey, 16 was only a few months ago." I said. He just glared at me, and stormed off to his room. I started laughing again.
"What a dork! Five bucks say's he's back out in five minutes because he's too quick." I said, laughing.
"You are mean! I'll give him ten minutes." Todd said, and I laughed again.
"I'll take the bet!" I said. I set the timer for five minutes.
He laughed. I hopped up onto the counter and leaned back against the cabinets. "I'm tired." I said.
"Well, wake up. We have a movie to finish." He said laughing.
I didn't say anything. I closed my eyes. "I wish I was braver." He said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"If I was brave, I would walk over ot you right now and kiss you." He said.
I opened my eyes. "I wish you were braver too." I said.
"Is that so?" He asked.
"Yes." I said.
"Ally, do you like me?" He asked.
"Well, I know that I have a lot of fun with you. I'm not sure if I should start dating again yet though." I said, not even knowing if I was telling the truth or not.
"Okay." He said.
"Are you looking for someone to date?" I asked.
"Um, no not really." He said.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"I'm not exactly sure. . ." He said. The timer went off. "Damn." I said laughing.
"Set it for five more minutes." He said. I picked up the timer and set it for five more minutes. After about two minutes, we heard the bedroom door open. "Seven minutes?" Todd asked.
We both started laughing. Christopher walked into the kitchen. He gave me a weird look. "So, seven minutes." I said laughing.
"Shut up." He said opening the liquor cabinet again. He pulled out a bottle of wine. "We're drinking it. I don't care what you say." He said.
"So, seven minutes was long enough for her?" I asked laughing.
"That was for me." He said. "I'm not going to explain it to you."
"I don't think I want to know." I said.
"Yeah." He said leaving the kitchen.
"Seven minutes. I win." Todd said.
"Damn. I lost five bucks." I said, laughing.
"Tell you what. I'll forget you owe me the five bucks if you let me kiss you right now." He said.
"Honey, I've been waiting for you to kiss me." I told him. He walked over and started kissing me while I was sitting on the counter. I wrapped my legs around him. The timer buzzed, and we both jumped.
We started laughing. I jumped off the counter. "The pizza should be done now." I said. I opened the oven and it looked done, so I pulled it out and set it down on the counter. "Now it has to cool off for a few minutes." I said.
Christopher and the girl walked into the kitchen. "Can we have some of that?" He asked.
"There is only enough for us. You can make another one though." I said.
"This is Anna." He said.
"Does she also go by Aubrey?" I asked.
Anna giggled. "I'm not Aubrey." She said.
"The who the hell is Aubrey?" I asked.
"She's another girl on the cheerleading squad. Why do you keep mentioning her?" She asked.
I looked at Christopher and he shook his head. "Just heard about her once. Christopher doesn't talk about many girls." I said.
"Oh. Well, Aubrey's a slut." She said.
"Okay, let's stop talking about her." Christopher said.
I grabbed the pizza with a pot holder and we went to the bedroom.
"So, apparently my brother saw two girls today. What a dork." I said.
"A Player." Todd said, taking a piece of pizza, and sitting on the floor. "OUCH! It's hot!" He said. I laughed, and handed him a plate.
"I guess." I said. We started the movie while we ate our pizza. When we were done eating about half way through the movie there was a knock on the door.
"Hold on." I said to Todd. He paused the movie, and I got up to answer the door. Anna was standing there.
"Can I ask you something." She whispered.
"Sure." I said, stepping out into the hall.
"Is he seeing Aubrey?" She asked.
"We don't talk about that stuff, so honestly I have no idea." I said.
"Okay, just checking." She said, "Cause she just called him and he stepped outside to talk to her."
"Oh." I said.
"Thanks." She said smiling and walked away.
"Oh my god." I said closing the door.
"What?" Todd asked.
"Poor girl. Christopher is totally two timing her." I said.
"Did you say something?" He asked.
"No. I don't know for sure, and I would feel bad if he wasn't. Besides, she seems sweet. Not as bitchy as his normal girls. I don't want to upset her." I said.
"Well, what if you were in her shoes?" Todd asked. Good point. I walked to Christopher's room, and opened the door. She was laying on his bed staring at the ceiling.
"Ana, how old are you?" I asked her.
"I just turned 16." She said.
"What on earth do you see in my brother?" I asked her. She shrugged her shoulders.
"All my friends and his friends kind of pushed us together I guess. Can I tell you something?" She asked me.
"Of course you can." I said, sitting down next to her on the bed.
"I was a virgin before this. I felt like I was supposed to have sex like everyone else. But now I kind of wish I hadn't." She said, starting to cry.
"That bastard." I said. "Did he know you were a virgin?" I asked her.
"Yeah. His friend Thomas found out from my friend Mary then told him. After that he seemed really interested. He hasn't said two words to me after...we...you know." She said.
"I'm going to fucking kill him." I said.
"What?" She asked me.
"Anna, I think you are too nieve to be a cheerleader. Go home, and find a nice guy, okay?" I told her. She looked really confused.
Christopher walked into the room. "What the hell." He said.
"Christopher, what is your problem?" I asked.
"What?" He asked.
"Do you even care about her at all?" I asked.
"Of course I do." He said sitting down next to her. She smiled. "I think I'll be okay." She told me.
"What's going on?" He asked.
"Are you dating Aubrey?" I asked.
"No way!" He shouted. "Did she tell you that?" He asked her.
"No." She said. He got up and pushed me out the door. "Leave us alone." He said and slammed the door.
"Poor stupid girl." I said, and walked back into my room. Todd looked like he was really bored.
"Sorry. You could have started the movie without me." I told him.
"And watch the best part without you?" He asked. I just smiled and layed down on the bed. He got up, and layed down behind me while I started the movie again.
We watched the rest of the movie with no interuptions. When it was over, I turned off the TV. I sat up facing Todd. "So, what now?" He asked.
I shrugged my shoulders. My phone rang. I jumped off the bed and grabbed it. I answered it without seeing who it was.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Hey, it's Alex."
"Hi." I said.
His voice still made me smile.
"I was thinking about you." He said.
I giggled. "What about me?"
"I think you could guess the answer to that question." He said.
"I bet I could." I said.
He laughed. "Do you want to come over? I'm lonely and I miss you." He said.
"Ummm." I said turning around and looking at Todd.
"Please?" He asked.
"I would love to but. . ." I said.
"Please?" He asked again.
